As to attacks on the US forces, they may not abate fully since a lot of the attackers are also Al-Qaeda elements along with some disgruntled Iraqis. Also, I don't see a withdrawl coming anytime soon.

Ahmed Chalabi just announced that Saddam will be tried in public in Iraq for crimes against the human race, genocide and war crimes.

A tribunal has already been set up on last wednesday, because a trial in absence of Saddam was considered possible as well (interesting timing though).
