Saddam arrested? [edit:YES!!!]

If there should, in fact, be a God, then his capacity for mercy and forgiveness should be our own.

Also...

If there should, in fact, be a God, then we should mark Saddam, "Return to Sender".

You honor those who fight bravely against you, you deride those who pop out of hole in the ground asking for mercy.

So you would have felt better for Saddam(disliked him say 1 million times insted of 2 million) if he had fought the US troops bravely and killed som of them before he was captured?

Yes Saddam, "we got him" Yaehh, ok it's a good news for everybody, specially the iraki. But now what is the bush's strategy for Irak?

For the US, no I would have not felt better. But many Arabs are so shocked that the same man who encouraged them to martyr themselves would surrender in this fashion that they are accusing Americans drugging him with some type of stooper gas.

The same strategy the US used in Germany and Japan. Deal with the resistance, rebuild the infrastructure, "assist" them in creating a constitutional democracy. Ever see the movie "The Mouse That Roared?"

hum, yes there is a progression since Japan, US didn't launch the nuclear weapon to deal with the resistance. And what US will do if Irak don't want a constitutionnal democracy?

Like Japan, it will insist on "assisting" them create one of course. Besides it is impossible to know whether they want one or not unless you ensure each and every person is guaranteed voting rights, which is what a constitutional democracy does.

Saddam knows there is still a good chance he can do more damage discrediting the US admin. Why get shot down in a waste of your life when you can still make something out of it. He'll be doing anything he can against the US now. If he can deepen the rifts between the US and Europe before he is executed (most likely scenario) then he'll probably feel his death meant something. The man is smart, give credit where it's due.
