Sam Brownback Ending Presidential Bid

The whole GOP candidate lot needs to drop out. Maybe Romney and Paul deserve to stay, but thats about it.

Why Romney? He seems pretty loony to me... And let's not forget that they're both part of the Homophobe Herd in politics, which may not matter that much to straight folks, but it IS a big deal to me (seeing as I'm queer).

Of course he's loony. The current GOP platform as a whole is loony. But he seems to be the least indecisive and least loony of the bunch.

Are you saying the design of his campaign lacked intelligence?

He's from Kansas. Is there any doubt that his campaign was about as intelligently designed as the state's fight over intelligent design? ;)

What makes Tancredo crazy?

I think he was the one who said he would nuke Mecca if another terrorist attack happened on American soil, or maybe that was Duncan Hunter.

I also saw a clip on the Daily Show where Jim Gilmore said he wanted to stop all legal immigration.

What makes Tancredo crazy?

Aside from the whole "Let's nuke Mecca if one of our cities gets wiped out!" schtick?

Or that this is his argument for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage?

Activist courts have ignored the principal legal argument that the state's interest in marriage is procreation. Population is power. Society needs a young generation to defend the country in battle, to support its programs with taxes and to carry on its culture and traditions. The mere fact that two people are in a loving relationship does not matter to the state. Society supports traditional marriage because it is the only union which, in the ordinary course, leads to children, without the intervention of a third party.

Nah, couldn't be it.

My post was unintelligently designed.

Maybe this is in the article, but I'll ask anyway. Did Brownback throw his meager support behind anyone yet?

Wasn't Brownback the crazy one, anyway?

Just conservative. I would've voted for him. Tancredo also scored high on the conservative scale on this online quiz I took (not as high on the economic scale, though). I don't think Guilliani, Thompson, and McCain were even in the list...

Maybe I'll vote Brownback as a protest vote. :p

Can I be the one to officially call him Brokeback Brownback in this thread? :mischief:

At least he isn't pulling a Vilsack, it seems. Go into debt, have Hillary bail you out.

Next Hunter,
then McCain, after New Hampshire.

Dodd and Biden will drop out after New Hampshire and Iowa.

Better than being a Craig boy, I suppose.

Have you seen his hair?

Same thing.

PS if anyone gets indignant and "OMG LEAVE CRAIG ALONE"

HE'S A HUMAN!

But part of me still wants to whup ya upside the head for that!

Really? How bad do we have to zing you to make you want to secede?

The fact that there are really people out there who'd buy into a Brownback or Tancredo presidency, scares the crap outta me.

Hahano. McCain is dead in the water. He won't make it to NH, he's dropping out after Iowa, just like Ron Paul.

If you say so...
To be frank, I don't pay nearly as much attention to these guys as I should - I devote most of my political attention to my pet issues and to the Democratic nominees, because it is EXTREMELY unlikely that I'll ever like the Republican nominee more than the Democratic nominee. Whoever the GOP fields, I'm more interested in beating him - and getting the best Democrat possible in there to beat 'im - than who he is and the particular ways in which this particular Republican is racist, sexist, homophobic, authoritarian, favors rich people and wants to flatten Muslims with a fleet of bulldozers.

I notice nobody's commented on Brownback's MySpace Page since September 19th.

WHERE WERE YOU, VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY!?

Due to how wide his stance on certain items varied from the average voter's, I don't think Brownback mountin' a surge in the polls was realistic. His campaign was basically stalled and there wasn't even much of a chance for him being tapped for the bottom half of the ticket.

Meh...for the most part the republican candidates suck especially sweet talking romney and giuliani. Giulani is the worst of them but on second thouoght maybe Tancredo.
