SAM stands for Surface to Air Missile. In other words, it is a missile that is launched from a surface (land or sea) and hits an object in the air. That weapon is for plaint and helicopters. When defnding vs. a ground unit, tha SAM Infantry will act like an Infantry or Marine unit firing its machine gun.
