I especially like the Neutrino Detection image. It would be nice to see small icons in the previews (like is done in the contest thread). I make my previews pretty quickly (about 2 minutes tops) by adding a 42 pixel* border to the large icon; trimming off the top, left, and bottom sides of the border; then pasting the small icon in; and finally saving it as a gif.

* The trim leaves a 10 pixel space between the two icons.
 
THanks for the advice. I will try it out with my next ones...(and I will then also rework the actuall previews).
Yea the old car at the samicon was there intentionally to give it a 50's style but I think I will also rework that one to a more generic version.

/edit:
So I posted some new previews but decided to leave the 10 pixels space out so it's just a 160*128 gif...
Perhaps a stupid question but is there any reason why to prefer gifs to jpgs?
 
So I set neutrino detection at the september contest.. I also updated the last old previews...
 
I hate to bump my own thread but two new icons added...
