Pour Decision Maker
San Francisco, heart of liberal America (or aorta if you think Berkley is the heart). You'd think that there'd be some kind of civil police force. You know, the kind that doesn't arrest lawyers for providing counsel to their clients in a courtroom.
You'd be wrong.
Late last month, a San Fran public defender was arrested for advising her clients not to speak with the police. Apparently, a police officer near a courtroom wanted to ask two of her clients about a burglary unrelated to the charge for which they were in court. Public defender Tillotson advised her clients not to speak with the police. The officer then arrested Tillotson for interfering w/ an arrest.
