Save games crashes after one turn

Hey
Civ4 runs pretty good on my computer, my problems is that i can't play my saved games. I have no problem loading em, but when i click next turn and it's done loading it just "freezes" up(i can move the cursor but rest is forzen). I can hear the "pop-up" sound when some of the other civs are trying to trade or the sound when your have completed a building. The music also keeps playing until i try to tap out or ctrl+alt+del and then it crashes.
I've been surfing the forum for some time now i can't find any with similar problem.

Hmm you know mabe posting specifics on your system might help.

other than that I have no real idea but try: patching the game to most current version, tweak the Ini file settings to max preformance. try that and repost your systems specs. oh and how long has it been since you reinstalled windows? windows tends to get all unstable after a while
