I've found that a song will repeat if it happens to be the AI's turn. You get used to it.
I am starting an SG game of this. If someone is interested, (s)he can join.
I can start an AoI II game, but then it crashes on me with the "German Infantry/infandeath.wav" error. I see that this error has been raised in this thread a few times, but I didn't see any resolution to it. Can anyone offer some pointers?
It's depressing to have to keep restarting the AoI scenario, only to have it crash right after I sit through 5 minutes of "x is building White House", "y is building Flame Thrower Academy", etc
I'm wondering the same thing. It took me two nights of tinkering to get to the point where I could even start the AoI II scenario, and then after 5 minutes of "$CIVILIZATION is building $WONDER" popups, it crashes because of a missing .wav file. I'm about ready to give up on AoI entirely.
Did you replace these ini files, too?
The building messages at the beginning is, IIRC, a bug. You can avoid it by certain deselecting of the options in the preferences. More I don't know to this.
The link in post#345 is broken. I think you meant AoI II Page 15 (just pasting the URL cuts out some of the characters in the middle).
Why don't you replace all these files in the main download file? It's crazy to have to go through all this in order to get the mod working.
Also - could you add a note about the building messages to the instructions in the original post? If I had known to turn that off before I started futzing around, I would have been much happier about trying to get this thing working.
Move along, nothing to see here.
The reason why I did it this way is, I had secere trouble to upload the files. That's why I did it this way.
Missing entry in "text\PediaIcons.txt": ICON_BLDG_Stadium
...but changing it didn't do help; the game still crashed with the same error. I tried copying the file into the main Conquests folder, but then that crashed with:
Adler, do you use any IM clients? I think I could get this working if we could chat in real-time and compare notes.
I have been messing around with this again. I had the same error trying the save from the SG. It looks like either the game was using a different BIQ or we are missing the matching pedicon.
I say that when I look at the Huge 1.1 BIQ it does not have a Stadium. It has a SportStadium. You can start a new game and have no problems, so that suggest the save was made with different components.
The issue is that the save was made from AoI II in a Conquest subfolder, rather than the Scenario subfolder. You either have to move the other players AoI II folder to their Conquest folder or the game has to be restarted with Alder17 moving his AoI II folder to his Scenario folder.
The save has the path to find the pediacons and such in it and it is poniting to Conquest and the d/l says to put it in Scenario. So it searched the players Coqnuest folder and does not find a pediacons with the matching Stadium.
The parts 1-4 has no archs or are corrupted.
I've lost a lot of time to downloading attempt. But what an interesting thing - look to this one year old post:
What it is happening here?
I am having the same problem
Did you both try the ALL download?
The all download still works thanks for pointing that out Adler17!
Good to hear. I will make an edit in the post. However, I won't do a fix on the other files as I would then need to post a completely new version of the game. And for that I had to make several changes I don't have time for.
Just got this running on my Mac, what a fantastic Mod
Hi Alder, I'm having a lot of fun with your scenario, but I'm with a little problem.
I'm playing wih Italy, and everything goes fine until I reach a turn nd the game stops. I click end turn and the computer starts thinking more than an hour, and does not pass to the next turn!
It's the third time I'm playing the scenario, this happens always in the year 1926.
Uh, where's the .biq file? I may have missed it...
