Okay, the way I see it, a coupla weeks after civ3 comes out every decent scenario maker will be starting on their first scenario.
What would be good is if we dont get 50 ww2 scenarios straight away.

Why doesn't everyone who wants to make a scenario post in this thread about the scenario they'll make so we dont get alot along the same lines: then TF could put a list somewhere on the site of whose making what.

I volunteer to make either a mongol scenario or an American civil war scen but one which covers the entire world at that time unless ne one feels they have specialist knowledge of that time and would rather do it.

So whaddya think? - Start posting your scenario here

i'm going to try to play the regular game to death before i start fiddling with the scenario editor. its going to be near impossible to make good scenarios without understanding basic game concepts like resources and unit support

My scenario idea, as it stands,

2002: North Korea successfully invades South Korea, United States provides financial aid to insurgency, but does not enter war under fears of a nuclear strike by North Korea's newly acquired intercontinental ballistic missle system (as of late 2001). North Korea officially claims itself to be the Democratic-Republic of Communist Korea (DRCK)

Chinese army invades Taiwan, but removes forces after the U.S., Britain, Japan, and Russia threaten (and temporarily do) place trade a 50-year embargo on China after invasion, which the allied powers eventually remove after two months.

2003: DRCK becomes the fifth most powerful nuclear power on earth, only surpassed by the U.S., Britain, Russia, and China. All other nations agreed to decrease nuclear spending in the World Peace Treaty of November 2001.

...and I'm not going to say what happens next, until I see some interest in my idea :)

I usually play the initial release to death before moving on to scenario making. But when the time comes, two words:

ROMAN EMPIRE.

In the past, I have taken scenarios from West End Games' Imperium Romanum II and adapted them for Civ2. I'll probably do the same for Civ3.

Anyone that wants to make a WWII scenario please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to give any technical or historical assistance I can. Its my specialty! ;)

I eventualy would like to make some what-if scenarios, probably mid 20th century.

I can't wait to see some custom downloads on the CFC!:D I hope to make units and icons (and post them) for everyone to use.

go with this one!:goodjob:

I would like to see an intensive pacific naval battle scenario for WWII. How about it, H Tower? I see your quoting Halsey...;)

Most of civ2 was land battles. It just was set up to work that way. Naval warfare was always secondary, unless you were on a map with many islands.

rmshape - Make it! I would deffinately play it! In fact, it sounds like a good naval battle in the making...

I look forward to creating some historical Canadian scenarios, such as the Red River Rebellion, the old French-English conflict (Louisbourg, Plains of Abraham, etc) and perhaps playing with the UN victory conditions and giving the player a chance at re-creating Confederation. :)

Glad to see I got the support I wanted :goodjob:

I support you too!!! Sounds great!

I'll also do Roman Empire scenarios: war with Carthage, War with the Persians, war with Greece (early in Rome history). And also the war in Gallia with Julius Caesar and 11 legions (6 000 men per legion  ). It ended by a Roman victory in Alesia.

Also maybe the race to space between USA and Russia, ending with a Space victory. In this scenario, they can't attack each others!! Just a tech race!

Maybe some others fictional scenarios like rmsharpe's one...

ALL Scenarios are cool, ww2 is one of the cooler ones!

But hey, I foresee a huge diverse amount of scenarios...:goodjob:

WW2 will be cool coz of the giant maps,

Roman Empire will look just amazing, (ave!)

Mongols are a cert,

US civil war for all the Gettysburg freaks out there,

Infact expect a reprise of all the cool fantastic world stuff,

and maybe scenarios that show the new game engine/system
for what it is...cooool!:king:

Just think of the scenarios Nemo (red front) and the chaps who do Imperium Romana will do for instance!

I can't wait!:crazyeyes

BTW - What happened to Alex?

I used to love the Roman scenario that comes with MGE. Looking forward to some better ones :egypt: in Civ3.

Get to work on it Stuie! :)

I'm going to start plotting out my scenarios on paper as soon as I get the strategy guide next week!

Here are my plans:

Legend of the Five Rings- Feudal Japan/China with a heavy dose of oriental mythology. Based on the card game of the same name.

The Great War: American Front- United States versus Confederate States. Based on a series of novels by Harry Turtledove

Quest for Fire- Mankind's ancestors struggle to survive and dominate. I will only do this one if I can find a way to turn off mining, irrigation and roads at the start.

Little Sicily reads too much

Now THAT would be a very interesting scenario.... The english VS the french, with Indians and all. It could go pretty far too as to include like New-England and even go to Louisiane.

Yup, I'm in for that one!:goodjob:

Edited: Anything with Harry Turtledove has the main them has my approval too :goodjob:

I gonna build one about the colonization of the world ,put that one on my name.from 1494 till 1920 ,a long one ,on a realy huge world map.

I can quote halsey, whether or not i can make a good scenario about anything is something different.

if you want a really good naval war scenario, i suggest case's scenario called "the cruel sea":goodjob:

my first scenario will probably be something based in the modern age, but i have no idea what yet. maybe the US invasion of guadalcanal...

Invasion of Sweeeeeden II.
The first one got potential, but the geography and every
single historical thing were just ####ed. This one's will be in 2004.

Unrealistic. North and South Korea are very close to eachother in recent years. They are soon to be united. (Two countries walked together at the opening ceremony of Sydney 2000.)

H-Tower - I enjoyed "The Cruel Sea" very much. Its very hard to win, and takes alot of time/effort.

US amphibious scenarios in the pacific would be awesome!

You just need a history book or search engine to make historical scenarios. Its easy. Go for it. With the new editors, scenario making just got alot friendlier, I think.

I was hoping someone would make Midway. Or Leyte Gulf, Special Unit; the Japanese Kamikaze, an early cruise-missle.
Jutland could be another good one.

Personaly, I will spend too much time playing for awhile to make scenarios.:)

I don't think that the diplomatic relations between North Korea are pretty "warm".North Korea is considerd on of the "Rouge'st" country's and south Korea is a modern democracy.
i think for a future or fictional scenario it's pretty realistic ,considering how hard it really is to forsee the future in any way.
