Story
This is a mod that tells the story of the Cold War. The scenario will start at the beginning of 1945 and end in the middle of 1991. Like the World at War mod, it would either have a free play where you could play and change the course of history, accurate mode and semi-accurate mode. Much like the WaW and Desert Scenario, it will be littered with messages, explained below. There are of course, different starting points: Europe, USA and Africa 1945, Asia and Middle East 1945, Asia and Middle East 1953, Europe, USA and Africa 1957, Asia and the Middle East 1960, Europe, USA and Africa 1960, Europe and USA 1974
Actually the idea of the scenario is based on the same concept except that the game play period is between 1960 and 1991. Granted there are no other time frames to play from, I'm sure map alterations and re-balancing can be made but would require a more thorough check on all the elements implemented for 1945's technology, civs, territories, etc. With this one scenario it maintains some realism and some dynamics for unusual historical play.
Civilizations - Leaders
USSR - Josef Stalin if you start in 1945, Nikita Kruschev if you start in 1957, Leonid Brezhnev (later Mikhail Gorbachev, then Boris Yeltsin) if you start in 1974
USA - Roosevelt (later Truman) if you start in 1945, Dwight D. Eisenhower if you start in 1957, John F. Kennedy (later Lyndon Johnson) if you start in 1960, Richard Nixon (later Ford, then Carter and Reagan) if you start in 1974
Cuba - Fidel Castro (only available in Europe, USA and Africa 1960 or if you reach 1960 in the earlier mods)
Argentina - Che Guevara (only available in Europe and USA 1974 or if you reach 1974 in the earlier mods)
UK - Churchill (then Atlee) if you start in 1945, Harold Wilson if you start in 1960, Margaret Thatcher if you start in 1974 (yea, chronologically inaccurate as she came to power '79)
China - Mao Zedong if you start in 1945, Hua Gofeng if you start in 1974 (again, historically inaccurate as he came into power in '76)
Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh if you start in 1945 - country spilts into 2 from 1960 so therefore only South is available - Ngo Dinh Diem from 1960 or 1974 (either one is OK)
Iran - Ayatollah Khemoni (only available in 1974 start)
Iraq - Saddam Hussein (again as Iran)
Egypt - Anwar El-Sadat (same as Iran)
Germany - Adenaur if you start in 1974
All the others: Burma, Albania, Germany, France, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Poland, Ireland, Romania, Czechoslovakia (splits into 2 near the end of the scenario), India, Indonesia, etc. are minor civilizations.
Although jlocke has contemplated changing of leaders, I'm going to rule it out simply because I'm not sure where that series of code need to be altered for Vanilla Civ. Believe me I really wanted to include some of those additional nations but the dll was set to max out at 16 and some places on the map simply don't have the room to build the nation itself (i.e. Indonesia).

I hate to disappoint but Vanilla does not offer event files, this is something that can only be done via Bts from what I know. Although if you know the xml that can pull this off by all means do tell.

Victory Conditions
Conquest Victory Available in current mod.
Diplomatic Victory Available in current mod.
Space Victory (minor victory available if you start in 1957) Available in current mod.
Time Victory Available in current mod.
World Wonders
Apollo Program Available in current mod.
SDI Available in current mod (now with 60% successful nuclear strike chance!)
Internet Available in current mod.
Berlin Wall Berlin is actually one special city in this game that I've modified for that very function, there is a West (Vest) and East (Ost) Berlin owned by two sides, and they have the wall going on.
Central Intelligence Agency Available in current mod but as a form of spy center, not only for the Americans but every other nation (Israel, USSR, etc.)
MI5 Again, UK spy center.
Iron Curtain Hard to understand how a concept is a wonder.
Manhattan Project Available in current mod. Named 'Nuclear Proliferation'
I strongly recommend you play the mod first so you have an idea as to what this mod currently has. The new one simply cleans up a lot of unfinished code and game play issues (along with polishing the map and updating the entire civilopedia).
