scenario probs

Hi all, my first post here.

I just got used how 2 play civ 3, gud game u can spend hours on it thou.

Used to play civ 2 alot and liked the scenarios however i cant get any working for civ 3.

I put them in the folder but it wont detect them. Is it because of .bic and .bix files? as i think i can only see .bic as i dont have the expansion?

just wondering if anyone could help?

Hi - welcome to CFC.

Unfortunately, Civ 2 scenarios are incompatable with Civ 3 ones. However, there is a mod community here that has made some Civ 3 scenarios - look in this part of the forum.

oops sorry i misworded my post i meant i tried some made for civ 3, but theres a big selection on ur forums, thanx for the link

Are you going "Load Scenario", or trying through "Load Game"??

i'm trying 2 load a scenario. However it dosnt seem able to detect the .bix scenarios.

Do i need a patch??

The generic Civ3 game (often called "Vanilla") can only read .bic files. Even then, you should be sure you have the v1.29f patch to be sure you can read all of them. To read .bix files, you need to purchase the Play The World (PTW) expansion, or buy the Conquests expansion, which includes .bix AND .biq compatability.
