I just got Civ 3, and I think this site is the greatest site of information!!! Thank you so much!!!

More to-the-point, however, I was wondering if I could get a basic explanation on how scoring works in Civ 3. I couldn't find an explanation in the manual, even though it promised me one in Chapter 14...but no such luck! Like previous Civs, is your score factored based on difficulty level, or is difficulty level merely noted on the scoring? How does culture fit in? Technology? Number of tiles of map covered? Map size? Years of world peace? Destroying a civilization? Any others I've missed?

Thank you very much!

As with real life, real estate is all important in Civ III. The more land you control the higher your score. Also, difficulty level is weighed heavily. I played several games on Chieftain level and the highest score I achieved was 1393 in a diplomatic victory late in the 20th century. I just started playing Warlord, got a conquest victory early in the middle ages and score 2400 something. I don't know about the rest of the factors, but the two mentioned above are key.

"do or do not, there is no try."
