Hey friends!
We have been putting so much effort into analyzing and figuring out every possible civ, every wonder, every leader and unique.
But, I ask, what about the scout's dog? Where is all the meticulous research and speculation surrounding our good boys and girls?
This is the thread for giving dogs their deserved head scritches and belly rubs. If, as suggested, scouts may have different breeds of dogs, LET'S FIGURE OUT WHICH CIV/REGION HAS WHICH DOG BREED!
I'll start with my prediction for Mesoamerica/Latin America. The Xoloitzcuintli is the Mexican state dog, and is recognized as having remained relatively unchanged genetically for thousands of years. It is a breed prone to hairlessness, giving it a distinctively "bald" look with often some small tufts of hair on its head, paws, ridge and/or tail.
The reason why I think this breed is a very good candidate for Latin America, is because the model can very comfortably represent very related dogs of Southern America, namely the Peruvian Orchid and the Argentine Pila (also hairless), which appear to share some heritage with the Xolo. This group of hairless dogs are, in my opinion, quintessentially the best "idea" of a shared canine history across all of Latin America.
(dookit dat shweetch fashe)
Let's see what other cool dog breeds people can propose!
EDIT: Opening this thread up to cats and other animals because why was I ever so speciesist. Bad Jester, bad boy.
