how can i play civ3 with 1280X1024 - is this possible?

well, its not as simple as that, there is an option:

edit the civilization.ini as follows:
Video Mode=1280
(for other resolutions: 1792,1600 or 1152)

Or u can use your default desktop resolution by adding:
KeepRes=1

didnt try it out myself but read that in a german forum

Yep, KeepRes=1 will allow you to play in your current Windows Res, I use 1600X1200 quite abit. In PTW you add that setting to the ptw.ini.
