About to read the rules, but I have a question first - are we allowed to fakeclaim Hitler?

Its probably good if you are a fascist, but you can go ahead.

If you mean in spots where mechanically the game would be over if you were hitler, then no.

I think there is ~no reason to vote down a government where I am in the more powerful position day 1, especially given even if a fascist card comes out, there is no power attached.

So for now I am strongly leaning ja!
