... that whenever I mine a hill that has an Iron resource on it, the Iron gets depleted very quickly. Am I imagining this? For me, it's gotten to the point that I never mine these hills now, especially if I'm playing as the Romans or Persians and have only 1 Iron resource.

Maybe I'm paranoid.......................:crazyeyes

Agreed. It's just bad luck. I've had Iron resources last for 6000 years. I've also had Coal disappear after just a few decades. Gotta hate that... but no, there's nothing that makes Iron or any other resource more likely to disappear on you.

Yeah, you're paranoid, but I would be too if everyone was after me.

Resources do not get exhausted when the tile has no road. If you first build a road and the mine shortly after, this could shed some light on your feelings of paranoia. :)

Actually, the depletion of resources is COMPLETELY random. Nothing, not even whether there is a road or not, has any impact on it. Dan has stated this many times. I've had iron disappear from my land even though it was never connected.

Its random!

Ok, perhaps I was wrong. Thanks for correcting me. :)
