Selecting random map becomes duel map

I tried to select random map type. In the normal selection screen when you click on ok until you see all the selections that you have made you will see that its on duel map. Then if you go back you will indeed see that its on duel map instead of the random that you selected.

If you do custom game it selects a duel map as well when you choose random.

I'm having the exact same problem, except that for me it's not "Duel," but rather whatever I had selected before I moved it to "Random." Actually entering the game confirms that the choice was indeed NOT random.

I'm playing version 1.52.

Is this a known bug? When I searched on "random" "size", this is the only relevant hit I found! Seems like there would have been more of an uproar by now, but maybe it's something specific to our systems.

Anyone know?

EDIT: Okay, I think I found a workaround. You need to enter the Custom Game and select Random world size there. After testing this several times, I am convinced that the Custom Game does indeed do the Random world size correctly. Then you can return to the Play Now! style of starting a game, and the default world size will be Random. And it really will be random. BUT, the selection will be made before you actually launch the game (and shown on the screen where you hit the final OK button). AND, if you Go Back, you will see that same selection chosen for you instead of Random. And no matter how many times you go back to the main menu and pick Play Now! and Random and try to launch another game, it will ALWAYS be that same choice, not really random. BUT, if you exit the game and restart, THEN you get another random seed and another truly random map size from Play Now! Definitely tedious, and the random seed really shouldn't be locked until you re-start the program, but oh well. At least for the Custom Game, the random seed is correctly re-rolled every time you start a new game without restarting the program.

(And it would be nice if the settings didn't reveal the world size after you started the game, even a Custom Game... it would be fun to have to learn just by playing the game!! And I wish the number of opponents could be random too, but it's always determined by the map size. *sigh* But that's getting into Suggestions forum stuff, so I'll stay on topic.)
