    So my prediction came true. :) Nice match overall and Italy had more chances in the overtime, so their win is deserved. The worst thing actually is that Klinsmann will now resign and Germany will end up with some fecker like Sammer or Matthäus as manager. Bah.

    Good thing though that everything's going back to normal now. :)

    So if you're Romanian, does that mean you don't remember anything at all ? :eek:

    I remember the last two third place playoffs. The Croatia - Holland one was a bit of a surprise although the teams tend not to care as much about the result since you don't really win anything.

    Indeed, I also heard today that the third and fourth place teams win the same amount of money as well, so there's not much incentive for them to beat the other.

    Hey, maybe Rehagel will manage Germany. We are going from bad to worse anyway....

    No way (and that choice would be even worse).

    Well, I remember matches where Romania participated (like in the France '98 WC, - I forgot exactly how far we were - when the score was 2-1 England - Romania and we won with 3 - 2) and some other matches that were too interesting to forget.

    I don't see why this would be a bad choice. He did lead Greece to victory in 2004.

    How can you say such a thing? You must be one of the people Hitro was talking about.. :rolleyes: It's one of the worst things you can say. It's a football match indeed, and that gives him every reason to cry!

    Greece didn't exactly light up the tournament though.

    @willem
    I never cried over a football match and will never do so. I've had quite some debates with Hitro over that issue. I just can't be arsed to get too much involved with stuff like that.

    We did get the cup though. That was quite an achievement for an outsider.

    Well, neither did I, but that doesn't mean there is an awful lot of emotions involved in football. By getting involved in stuff like that, you mean getting involved in football?

    Never cried either, but if something like this happened, I'd at least make it my business to get seriously drunk (of course I would too if we won a match at this stage, so it's a win-win situation really :beer: ).

    Yep and it was deserved however I can see why other teams wouldn't exactly be queuing to get the manager.

    If I remember correctly, Germany did offer Rehagel the position of the manager in the national team when the Euro was over.
    Anyway, we 're way off topic here.Congrats to Italy again!:beer:
