The shrimp tiles are still excellent working tiles, I just lost the monopoly bonus a long time ago and have not ever been able to get the sanctions removed from it. They are still great tiles, just no more global bonus. So I can't really say how fantastic that bonus would have been in the mid-late-end game. But I guess it would have been fantastic, it certainly was early on.
The resistance in rival cities have some issues. They appear to travel extreme distances. They go to the closest city I would assume which in turns puts that in a lot of troubles. Also then as noted sometime they flee into cities that are getting burned to the ground, prolonging that process or just negating them fleeing to their death? There is a lot of them coming if you have a war like neighbor and the ever present hurricane season that slams cities across the globe and triggers the event.
The bayou cabin is nice, it's a very early musician/krewe and then as noted it approves the shrimp. Even tho it's the same somewhat wonky improvement as in it improves the tiles of the city that initially claimed the tiles, not necessarily that the tile is worked by that city anymore.
Perhaps it could also spawn a shrimp if you have a viable tile, that would sort of prevent the fact that it's almost always better to just burn a city to the ground instead of keeping them cause the shrimp tiles are just that good. This would make city-states and enemy capitals a bit less on the sucky side.
Also perhaps they should be able to spawn in bayou that are river marshes and not necessarily coastal marshes? It was noticeable on some inland cities that had no lakes or coast access but had rivers with marshes but then got nothing. But it is not necesary as this is more of a coastal civ so it can't be good everywhere.
Beyond that I guess there are not much more to say then previously stated that you have a fantastic start, the defence/war factor is a bit problematic until you get the mikmaqs, that sort of becomes a weird melee/range type unit. With them I more or less knocked out everyone on the starting island (Darius and Byzan). I wanted to bring Darius back out on the islands but was unable to do so. I did keep Byzan around on another continent. On a second island I knocked out Morocco cause they are just to scary culture wise, they now also live on as a one city state.
That said my whole game has gone into a stale mate. The randomized victory condition picked diplomatic and the world can't even agree on building the UN. Not a single project have been agreed upon to get run so far. Just a few sanctions (including me), ban some luxuries and spheres of influence. So now it's more or less waiting for a score victory that is the only option. It's not going to be domination. I could probably knock out a few more in the time that is left but the Iroqs are just to fortified. I would have to nuke their entire island back to the stoneage and at the same time not have them do that to me.
