Is it possible to set up a single continent map (surrounded by water) with surrounding small islands?

I am not aware of a script like this, but you could probably write one based loosely on the Pangaea and Archipelago scripts.

Does the Custom Continents script allow for only a single continent?

I'm currently playing a Big & Small map that is like that.

Yeah, that is probably the closest you'll get to what you're looking for. It will have one large land mass and a bunch of smaller ones. Though the even the smaller areas can be rather large, enough for at least 2 or 3 civs.

That sounds good to me.
How do I create a map like that?

Have you got BtS?

EDIT: Because it's a BtS map script.

Just start a custom game and use the map type Big and Small.

Might be wrth doing a few future starts (so you have satellites and can see all of the map) to see what settings are most likely to give you the kind of map you want, then start a fresh game from the ancient era with those settings.

I see, "Big and Small" is a map type that will produce this kind of map.
I would never guessed that.

Thank you, :)

It's not guaranteed to do this, but it's the one most likely to. B&S generates one large landmass, and some smaller ones. Sometimes the large one is nearly a pangea, and the small ones are archepelagos, other times the "large" one is only slightly bigger than the "small" ones, and you end up with 3-4 similar sized continents.
