settlement plans

I would imagine the Settler just produced in the capital is going to the light blue spot, as planned. Will we be producing Settlers in other cities also?

Tuscan Talon will soon be done with its Harbor and can begin building our fire-breathers.

This is where I believe our settler from I.G. should go. We don't have an escort yet, so we shouldn't send him to an island with barbs, and placing him there has the advantage of being able to work the fish, and it keeps Kuche from going to the large north central island without our permission.

I thought I saw a coastal path from Kuche to the large central island in an earlier screenshot. It went through fog, so I'm only guessing, but it would make sense for everyone to have equal access to that island.

Yaes, protecting the coast is good.

My nominee for our next settlement - we have a settler and swordsman being produced for next turn.

To have a foothold on that bigger island is a good idea. But do you think a single sword is enough? We do not know how many barbs are there.

I don't know, but our military production is slow, and I'd like to go there sooner rather than later.

Really, as long as there are not too many barbs that attack us the turn that we land, I would be ok with letting barbs ransack the city for gold as long as we don't lose the settler. I think one sword should be able to hold one turn :dunno:.

Should work. Just be careful when picking an unloading spot.

As we want to settle the island as tight as possible (I believe), I propose these two spots for the settlers en route:

Please give me your comments.

I agree we want to settle the island as tight as possible, and I definitely agree that we want to settle the hill 2 NW of Hellgate. I'm not sure of the other spot - how many cities do we get by settling there instead of the gold hill? In general, we want to settle on hills to maximize our food, but I'm not sure how many cities it will cost us if we settle on the hill.

Those 2 are probably good for our next 2 since there are still too many barbs. Once we have barbarians under control, I think we should spread out around the outside of the island to block others and then go back and fill the the spaces between.

Establishing the perimeter first sounds good. The overall plan looks good too. That's 15 Settlers we will need when we are trying to grow, build a defense, and take our continent. We need to watch our priorities.
