In my current game, I have control of the Seven Pines. I see in the Pedia that I should be able to call a council there to end current wars.

How does one go about doing such?

Thanks a lot!

Peace,
Kyro

Well, you have to be at war yourself, and the spell has to have not been cast yet. If those conditions are met, a unit on the tile should be able to cast the spell.

What's funny is that it wasn't until AFTER I ask the question that it occured to me that I should try actually PLACING a unit ON the tile.... d'oh!!

I'll try it... I'm sure that was my problem.... I was thinking just controlling it would bring up an option somewhere!!

Thanks a lot!

That worked.... now we'll have to see if it was a Game Breaker exploit.....

Thing is.... I'm playing as the Illians, and has just finished the Draw.... so I was at war with everyone with no hope for peace.....

Except now I have peace again.... woo hoo!

Now I can Ascend in my quiet icy home....

Poor Mortals! LOL

Yeah, when playing as the Illians the Severn Pines if definitely the best unique feature. I got really lucky in my first Illian game to start 2 tiles away from it. I also made sue to build the Mercurian Gate and get a few vassals before the Draw so I was never at wa with everyone.

I'm guessing that I'm probably wrong about this but aren't evil civilizations blocked from building the Mercurian gate? If not, they'd be amazing to summon as any evil nation especially those at constant war with the good nations. Kill your enemy to strengthen your ally.

Only civs following the Ashen Veil are blocked from building the Mercurian Gate. It has nothing to do with alignment, just state religion.

Even Infernals can summon Basium, if they stick with "No State religion" for a while. Once the permanent alliance is formed, they are free to adopt AV and there is nothing Basium can do about it.

Kinda ironic since the point of summonin Basium is to fite the Infernals. It seems pretty out of theme to me. I wonder if this is a bug or accidental ommission. Prolly is. But lol!

His goal is actually to fight AV. If Hyborem betrays Agares and AV, Basium won't fight him.

well, originally Basium could only be summoned after Hyborem's advent, and he would come specifically to fight the Infernals.

Still, Basium/Hyborem is quite the lethal team. Kill a good unit, and you're likely to get an Angel. Kill an evil unit, and you're likely to get a Mane. Kill a neutral unit, and you might get either or occasionally both. Fun times. Now if only it were possible to control both civs instead of leaving one to the AI...

Manes/Angel gifting is only based on unit religion (good religions go Angel, evil go Manes, FoL doesn neither), death/entropy promotion (Manes only), or being owned by the Mercurians (Angels only).

I love using evil religious units and death/entropy wielding units as Basium when Hyborem is an ally, as they will likely return to serve us both.

I'm still thinking that it is a but cooler when the Barbarian State summons Basium, and he goes on a rampage at war with everyone just like the Four Horsemen and Avatar of Wrath.

Lulz I wish I could play the real barbarian state and then switch to Basium.

I didn't know the Barbs could summon Basium? Or is that in your Modmod?

Kael reported it happening to him a long time ago. He said that he wasn't sure whether to consider it a bug or one of the coolest things that ever happened. I don't believe he ever decided to block it. The Barbs certainly don't have "NONE" as a UB for the Mercurian Gate and they are not blocked in the python that actually creates the Mercurians, so I'm pretty sure it is still possible. It is rare, however, since The Barbarian State rarely gets the techs needed or has enough cities to bother trying to build wonders.

Jus set up a hot seat game and put both of them as human players and play both.
