I haven't played any SG, am I'm still struggling on Regent, so I'm not up for starting one, but I came up with an idea that would be interesting to play:

Captain's Choice (with Team's Choice/Civ's Choice variants).

How it works:
the game has 4 (Captain's Choice) or 5 (Team's or Civ's Choice) players. Each player plays 15 rounds (10 rounds later on) simultaneously. After each player completes their turn, they write up a report. In the case of Captain's Choice, the Captain of the team chooses whose game to continue; in the case of Team's Choice, a vote is taken--majority wins; in the case of Civ's Choice, whichever game has the most points at the end of the turn is the game continued (which makes it challengingly, because that might not be the best game to continue).

I think this style of game would provide two benefits:
1) It'll get the SG teams working closer, since they're playing every turn they'll understand better what they're working with (sometimes when you've missed 40 turns, a lot happens, and you're lost).
2) This would be a great way to attract lesser/new players to SGs. Since they don't need to worry that a lousy round screws up the game (unless everybody has a lousy round), they can take the time to learn.

Since the game is slightly easier (4 or 5 chances instead of 1), it should probably be played Emperor or Deity (for those who like a challenge).

Let me know what y'all think and maybe we can get some games started.
