SGOTM 06 - Misfits

So, what do you want me to do? My first post was the first reply so are you saying I should ask Alan to help with the SGOTM by starting the first post in our team?:lol:

Or are you saying my second post which was number 308 should have been earlier. I don't think I could have appeared earlier then that.

No, well, I know you were out until mid-January. That's what your said in the very 1st post ... it's just that before you joined actively, we lost all the battles below @80%-odds ... and now, we even win @4%-odds :crazyeye:

But mainly, I just tried to be a bit funny :mischief:

Our bad luck switched from RNG-combat to surviving buildings?
It is my luck with this game lately that is *less than average* :mad:

we have to delay Calendar by 2 turns
3 to be save I dont know how culture vs Tech goes. I think Tech is last tho, so 2 should do...

There are only 38 beakers left to research Calander, I part researched it...

Do we want/need a courthouse in Masttown? It saves 3.5 gpt :) more as it grows or our empire expands.

Do we want to try for a Harbor in Athens? With such a big city, maybe it increases the trade routes to 2 gpt each. for a total of +2GPT ? It is worth shot...

We will want a galley for the Coventry cows? Or wait for Galleons?

Athens, I dont think we want to hire Scientists... maybe while we are pre-chemistry we do... but once we start chemistry or even when we know the next GP will not pop at a good time to pop Chemistry... We can then switch over to Merchants instead of Scientists to get $$$ and a GM is WAY better at $$$ than any Great Person out there.

With the GOTM server down find the save attached ...

I already said it should be worth it:
Hmmm, not really ... on the other hand, maintenance will go up with MM's cities, new cities we found/capture and more population in Masttown. So, in the long run, it may be worth it, considering that it doesn't take that long to build it! Do we really need the 3-4 units (guessing, I didn't check in-game :blush:) it could build in the meantime?

Yes, maybe it's worth it ...

I think we should wait for Galleons. According to my calculations, we should have Astronomy after ~20 turns ...
During these 20 turns, Coventry needs 13 turns to border-pop, and can then work the fish, and start working a cottage before the cows are pastured ...

:agree:

Hmz, It is not like I rushed the turnset or something....
@MoA: [party] on :)

Awesome parades today! Wish I could send you all some beads! :king:

my computer is very ill, so i'm still out. I'm basicly going to have to start from scratch is seems, so pass me until i give an ok. I can still check and input from work, but obviously not play at this time,

Not so great :( Good luck!!!

And what wasn't discussed yet is on how to continue research:
- AG proposed to run to optics @ 50 and then put 2 turns into feudalism ...
- I suggested to go to Optics @30%, then shut down research during 2 turns, save the money, take Calendar once Coventry has popped its borders, and afterwards research Astronomy @70/80/90%, making it (?) 5 turns instead of 10 turns (after bulbing) ... so we can build the ships and visit our 'friends' earlier!
- Other ideas? :confused:

Astronomy ASAP seems right... which means... Research Optics as close as possible to 13 turns (only 38 beakers left to research on Calander)

Then burn away the money to speed up Astronomy and go CS (Chain farming and Macemen), Banking, Steel.
In the intermediate we can start mass building Catapults/Trebs and some pikes. Maybe add some Swordsmen ready for upgrading and/or the need to go find Hannibal.

We will also want to insert some peacefull builds in London in particular when Grocers/banks come up ....

The dotmap

The now very thin Roster
ChrisFromLux => On Deck to snuff MM
namliaM => *PO-ed* Dumb Me :(
marowaker => Up to Kill MM

Mastiff_of_Ar => *AutoSkip* [party] untill Feb 7
ArcadicGamer => *AutoSkip* Busted Computer

I am up eh? Well I will get to the save sometime in the next 48 hours. It is likely that I will do it in 24 hours though.

This turnset I am going to prove that I am (or am not) the team's lucky charm.:lol:
This is now allmost 48 hours ago... I hope you got it :)

Looking forwards to MM's demize ;)

Sorry guys, I thought I could do it but there are so many things I have to do. Can you skip me this round?

Sorry guys, I thought I could do it but there are so many things I have to do. Can you skip me this round?

Of course we could skip you. That would put me UP again ...

BUT: we already have a very thin roster at the moment, and we are the 3rd-most advanced team. For me, we could pause the game some more days, if you could take your set then.
But what do the others think?

Works for me!

i'm back but rusty from no civ for quite awhile, pausing till the end of the week seems a good idea, which we can hammer out some more endgame focus details and teching stuffs.

OK, looking at who has played the last sets:
up to AD0800: namliaM
up to AD0950: maroWaker
up to AD1100: me
up to AD1160: MoA
up to AD1220: namliaM

So, for me, this means AG could be up next (even if he wants to wait until the Week-End, before continuing; we're still the 3rd-most-advanced team) ...

If AG cannot/does not want to pick it up, maroWaker should take it ...

If maro cannot/does not want it either, I think that would put me up again ...
(Sorry MoA :( )

Any comments?

i'm going to pick it up after i get a few GOTM sessions and HOF games under my belt to get me back into my game. I have to play it before friday as i am going to be away from my home during the weekend, so expect a report before friday if that is what we want.

Sounds fine for me ...

And for our tech-path, do we all agree on this:

Actually 13 turns on Optics is 20% or even run 0% for a while, at 100% optics is all of 4 turns. So running 0% wont hurt us anything...

With Calander only 38 beakers left we must make sure to not start researching it to early as even with just the 2 scientists we make 7 beakers/turn. Makes for Calander in 6 turns even at 0% research.

Oh, true; good that AG can pick it up, as this sounds like something for me to mess up again :eek: :D
