I can play tonight if needed, a whole big issue came up and i was not able to play once again. I'd feel better and safer if we again pushed my turnset back because i can not assure anyone that my computer and my internet to re-grab the save will be stable enough to play. I will gladly go next, or anywhere needed. It's not been fun/easy to get my system back in order with snow/ice/wind knocking out internet and power all last week and again today.

Sorry that I left on short notice, but I am back. I can't play my turnset until the weekend, but then again, i just got skipped so it does not matter.
 
My turns are done. Nothing unexpected happened: ;)
- slowed research down to 20%, to get Optics after 13 turns
- the first War Weariness appeared!!! (+1:mad: in London, Athens and Carthage)
- Sparta build a barracks, because they will probably build some units over time
- Masttown started a Courthouse, which will save 3,5:gold:/turn, at the moment
- when Utica grew in size, there were 4:mad: people; +3:mad: because they wanted to join Hannibal, and +1:mad: because of WW ... I decided to whip the forge for 2pop, which made them happy again
- Utica started a market
- Canterbury started courthouse, which saves 4,4:gold:/turn, at the moment
- Hastings started an Aqueduct
- I lost 3 Catapults ...

Beside this, I played around a bit with Mansa Musa:

Gao
After taking down Gao's defenses, I attacked without softening the defenders. There were 2 Skirmishers and 3 Catapults, so I would only have collateral-damaged 1 unit ...
But no problem ... Gao was captured and razed without losses! :)



Kumbi Saleh
While our attackers healed near the ruins, I moved 2 Axes and 2 Catapults towards Kumbi Saleh, to start taking down the defenses. This wasn't the very best idea, because there were 2 Catapults there. One of them attacked our troops in a forest, and withdrew without making too much damage. I killed it the following turn, by moving next to Kumbi Saleh. There, the 2nd Catapult attacked, and destroyed our defending Catapult :(

Beside that, there were Longbowmen defending Kumbi Saleh :eek: :(



But everything worked quite well. The Cats started taking down the defenses, were joined by healed troops from Gao, attacked Kumbi Saleh. I promoted 1 new Cat to BarrageII, for Kamikaze-action and dealing more damage. That Catapult withdrew from Combat, hurting the defending LB to 1,7/6HP :lol:
After that, only 2 other Cats were lost and Kumbi Saleh was captured :)





The Birth of our Great People
As planned, there was a Great Scientist born in Horico (finally :mischief:), and during the battle of Kumbi Saleh, there was a Great General born in Masttown. I haven't moved him yet, but I think he should be settled in Masttown as well!




Infos for the next turns
For the next set, we can plan some whipping in Athens and in Carthage, because there is still 1 unhappy citizen, even after MM's WW is gone. I didn't do anything, because I could only have finished the National Epic or the Forbidden Palace for 1 pop, and that wasn't worth it!

As for Hannibal, I checked the Victory Screen, who tells u that he has 0,00% of the land area. This probably means he's sitting on a very little island. Probably 1 or 2 tiles small!?!

The workers ... 9 of them ... I send them to Djenne and to Timbuktu. In Timbuktu, there are quite a few Farms that can be replaced by Cottages, and in Djenne, there are some new Cottages to still be build ...

tech to optics and then calander then??? making sure B's borders pop, or should we put calander off till all our new cities pop?

GG should most likely be settled in Mastown. what were our plans for the GS?

We are still planning a beeline to astro to get galleons, then grenadiers/canons for our overseas friends? I'd assume also that we'd be getting some CR2-3 macemen to upgrade to grenadiers. Sounds good right?

We shouldnt be too worried about meeting the ai, or the ai meeting us till around 1300-1400 AD, which means we are most likely going to meet them before they would ever come to us. However, it may be possible that islands chains may lead to another civ in the far east of our continent.

We started a galley in Nottingham (northern coast), while there was a trireme out there. We stopped it then!

It would be nice, yes, but it's not really necessary, I think. We won't get any other WW with new enemies until there's some fighting. And I think we all agree on eliminating Hannibal before looking for someone else.

Beside that, we're some 10 turns away from Astronomy: 3 for Optics, 1 for Calendar, and ~6 for Astronomy, as we'll use the GS to partly bulb it ...
I think we can live with the WW for ~15 more turns ...

That's OK for me.

However, as I said above, I don't think it's useful/necessary to build a Galley/Trireme combo for Hannibal.

And what about 'FP built in Hastings'? Do you mean MP (chariots?)?
The FP (Forbidden Palace) is 1 turn from completion in Carthage!

And I think we cannot delay Calendar further. It's necessary for Astronomy, that's N°1 priority for me. We can use Religion to border-pop the other cities.

By the way, what I forgot to mention in my summary:
- I used a Spearman to scout the coastline, in order to maybe spot Hannibal's culture in the water. He's S of Kumbi Saleh, at the moment. I would guess that Hannibal's city is on the small island SE of the cows, E of Carthage ...
- There's a chariot going to Kumbi Saleh, for MP-Duties. He's currently 2SW of Djenne, and in GoTo-mode ...
