SGOTM 16 - U'nu'sual S'us'pec'ts

Question: So Durn has an Axe, Archer, and Spear. We have 2 trebs that can't make it to Bibracte and a Mace with 5/2 xp and no promotions. I'd like to send those three units to the Jungle tile and then to the Iron next turn so the trebs can start bombarding Durn. How do you guys feel about this?

Wouldn't Brennus whip a LB? What other units are we going to send there that aren't needed to deal with his main stack?

He may well whip a Longbow. I just want the trebs to be doing something. And bombarding a city seems like a good idea. The Mace would accompany for protection and take combat 1 and leave the other promotion up for grabs.

No focus on Vienne & the SoD, once the SoD is dead, we can split the army 5 ways. :)

edit: An Axe will defeat our Trebs, so we need to defend them

edit 2: sorry I have been offline, I just had to explain something to the NZ Minister of Immigration. I know, I know.... but we are attacking brennus right now, can't it wait....

That seems reasonable, but I'm just wondering how long it would take the units needed to capture the city to arrive? Would it be better to just hit it with a larger stack that can knock down the defenses and take the city in one turn during mop-up operations? I'm wary of splitting our forces up into too many stacks.

I don't want to incentivize Brennus to whip longbows before the units that will actually capture the city are on-site.

amen :jesus:

Alright. The trebs will move down half way to Bibracte using up 2/3 of their movement (so they stay out of range of the chariots) and the Mace will go the rest of the way to Bibracte.

EDIT: the trebs will move 1sw. This way they stay in our borders and can hit the units if they go to the town.

EDIT 2: The trebs will join the main force on the opposite side of the river where our mini-stack is.

You can add an Excel doc as an attachment in the same way you would attach a save to your post.

I can't actually see google docs through our work firewall, can someone attach it to a post.

edit: forgot this, as I haven't accessed the docs for ages....

Sh!t. Will update in a moment. But Brennus moved 2NE to the forest. Not to the town.

This is not a huge problem. He is now stranded on the forest, except for the 6 Chariots, that can attack any of our 3 cities.

Upload the save so I can have a closer look.

Edit: and hang on, how did you whip the forge and the mish.... didn;t know you could whip 2 units in the same turn

Whip and switch queue to next building. I always do it for newly captured cities that are starving. :)

That is good to know..... learn something new about this game every day. :goodjob:

Ooookay.

He moved towards Tolosa because that was the least defended City. You were supposed to leave CamareDumDum empty.

Need some time to come up with a strategy.....
