SGOTM 16 - U'nu'sual S'us'pec'ts

I can't check the save at work. Have we obtained all the Sushi resources we can at this point? Are there any coastal/island cites we need for that purpose?

Are we going to keep or raze Bagacum?

That's fine, but they were in the turnset that just got posted...

They are more placeholders, part of the longer term plan.

In other news, the damn Sporks have played yet another set and the Ducks score graph makes me feel a lot happier about our game. We are definitely still in the hunt for Gold.

There are about 5 seafood not already planned for, they are all single resources.

Keep Bagacum, it has a few towns it can work and more importantly is christian and can build a temple immediately.

OK, I will play in a few minutes.
Unless someone thinks I should await SteelHorses's green.

Green from me!

Also, our cities are going to get huge with sushi. Is this going to mess up Religion? It's a VC I don't have a lot of familiarity with, but if us having too many votes now is a problem, I don't see the cities getting much, much larger as a good thing in that regard.

And it looks like PR is trying to copy our graph exactly.

Our cities will get larger, and we will get more votes, so we may have to spread buddhism around a bit more. But I will be surprised if neither Hammy or Qin go for culture, so they may spread it around themselves. We have 2 mishes, so if they go in Hammys big cities, thats another 30 or so votes.

Just like Humbaba, its something we can worry about in the last 15-20 turns.

edit: SteelHorse made a few posts yesterday after the PPP was formulated, and he was present on the forums a few hours ago. If he had objections, I would have expected that he would have raised them already. Play now, we want you to get as many turns in now before you become unavailable again. :)

Yes - There was nothing particularly controversial in this PPP. I don't think you need to wait for unanimous approval. Please play while you have the opportunity to do so.

National Park would be a lot better 3 or 4 tiles south of Elephantine. They support 13 and 12 preserves/specialists and can put lumbermills in the forests to build it. Elephantine only has 6 preserve tiles and 5 are jungle. For now, I've stopped chopping the jungle/forests there and am sending the workers elsewhere. Should I put a city in the forest before settling the fish/crab spot? Revent, is this a number crunch opportunity?

Great General - just leave him in Paris at least for this turn set.

Riverside tiles: should they get water mills or workshops? Workshops I think because we will have food from Sushi. Also replace cottages and hamlets with workshops?

I've played first turn with only a few tweaks to the planned builds (delaying some in progress banks) and am going to end turn now and continue.

NP would indeed be better further south, its just a matter of how long it takes to get a settler there and start the city growing. 5 turns to build settler, 5 turns to move it. Then the city is pop 1 and has to work farms for another 5 turns to grow to pop 2 before it can start working a workshop.

... and on top of that, it delays the 3 seafood site.

On the positive, it will have a lot of free specialists.

I'm easy either way.

Revent, yes please, crunch some numbers

Do we want to trade Corp to Hamm for Divine Right? something else?

edit: Sushi will help NP grow (whereever it is). But not until more important cities get SS.

Corp is fine.

Good points regarding sushi in NP city. OK, I'm fully on board.

NP city before 3 food sushi site. Stone could build a settler or 2 for the islands, Clams on workboat duty

Corp for DR done.

Now we can get Democracy for Biology. Do we want to do this?
And we decided that SoL wasn't worth the effort.

Nice IBT luck: popped silver and copper :)

Might as well make the trade, we want them being advanced.
Don't sell Democracy to anyone else though, as we would rather they don't go into emancipation.

Popped silver & copper, that is very lucky, especially the silver, its one of the few happy resources we didn't have. +2 happiness to all forges and both will be great if we can get a GE for Mining Inc. :)

We have tons of techs to trade, Medicine, Steam Power. We are out-teching the other guys by a large margin.
