SGOTM 19 - Also Sprach Sid

If Napoleon's stack moves 1W of Konya, we can move 1SE from the PH, to the Desert tile. This is on a road, and since Nappy's stack has 9 defenders, we'll need to use most of our stack to clear it.

If we opt for this move, the Medic Cuirassier should, I think, go back to Damascus for a turn to heal the troops there. Send the Cuirassier in Khursan eastwards, so that our Super Medic won't be isolated when it moves back east.

The save looks good. :)

Damacus: looks like Nappy stack was injured IBT. He can't have attacked though what happened?
Alex just got engineering. He must have upgraded 3 spears > pikes but I don't understand the injured catapults...
Anyway, if we suspect some wounded units in Damascus, we should get there shortly to clean up.

Next turn attack Jail before moving northern cuirassiers 79 and 86 (so they can plan to get on the galley in case of bad luck)

Move Snowcrab settler now. He should settle T155?

Great general should beat the front and help heal injured units. What's his current mission?

For the war in the west, I think kill the stack now on the hill because our 4 units mini stack N of Damascus is able to hit it this turn.
Konya does not need to be threatened/razed too soon.

Are we going to finish in time?

So much suspense :yeah:

The troops near Damascus have 1T to heal, so need for the super medic to make a detour. I did spend a promotion on Medic I but movement seemed more important than an extra 10% strength.

I've worn down the top defenders from Napoleon's stack in the west. I'm not cleaning it up as I want him to wear down the defenses of Damascus.

The 2 GG medics are in the front. One going to Istanbul, the other is with the western forces. The last "GG medic" is in north west and staying there. We need 5~6 Cuirassiers in the area to raze cities and attack HC's remaining city in the near future.

Snowcrab can be delayed up to T158. (T159 wb produced from chop, T159 sushi spread, T160 border pops and crab claimed). The area is still dangerous (not too sure what's going on in the fog, that's one reason for the bait worker...)

Konya will have to go relatively soon as I'm not too confident we have enough troops in the central/eastern Ottoman lands. Notably, Ankara needs to be razed by T156 so that new-Samsun (I'll name it Samsung for kicks and giggles) can be settled in time for its Executive spread.

Agree with the rest.

Alex doesn't have Iron, so we needn't fear Pikemen.

Once Aksum has produced its last Executive, it should whip a Bank, provided that we don't need troops. This would already add +29GPT, and Sushi has only spread to four cities...

I was thinking so. Aksum was queued for another whip on T159 however... let me see if I can juggle it around.

EDIT: The Bank can be a 3-pop whip and still allow for Aksum to be size 10 by T159. We have quite a bit of overflow from the 2 whips...

T153 - 7
T154 - 8
T155 - 9
T156 - 10
T157 - 11
T158 - 12
T159 - 13

The bait worked.

The attack on Goto Jail went, as expected, to the lower odds.

I've re-routed 2 Cuirassiers, we'll get another shot on T158... bummer. (lost a 86.1% battle ffs, only getting 1 hit in)

The battle around Konya went muuuuch better, finally some decent RNG from my part :D

I guess Napoleon will move his stack to Damascus (T158~59 he'd be ready to attack). So I'd wait another turn before attacking Damascus to raze it. We'll need to send a few extra units this way as there is also Anjar to take. (LB+spear)

I've sold Rice to Alex for 1 gpt. The gold increase is quite larger from the reduced upkeep however :)

^^^ nice idea. We could gift some resources to Alex and HC too.

Your one attack against the barb city went worse than all ten of my tests. :p The two losses I experienced left a LB with 0.6/6 and 0.4/6 strength. The bait luck was better. BTW, how many defenders are in Damascus?

How long until we can attack the barb city again? Perhaps you could invest 2 :hammers: into a Galley in Ironclad, and 2 :hammers: into a Cuirassier in Crib, just in case the barb city produces another defender and we need to rush more units.

An excellent idea. And do not use the workboats before the last turn.

I can gift seafood and Rice to HC as well. But there is some benefit from the extra food and culture, so I'd like to re-evaluate expenses...

EDIT: triple x-post.

I meant to say that pillaging rice is a good idea.

116 sushi-city-turns remaining

Income (conservative)
1245 gold banked

500 gpt * (T154-155-156-157-158-159) = 3000 gold
extra HQ gold: 116*4 = 464 gold
Bank in Aksum (T156-159): ~150 gold
City razings: ~600 gold

Total = ~5450 gold

Extra expenses (averaged Sushi upkeep, adjusted for inflation)
Extra sushi upkeep: 122*18 = 2196 gold
Sushi spreads: 26*60 = 1560 gold
Rush-buy: 3*450 = 1350 gold

Total: 5106 gold

We have around 300 gold buffer... seems safe for now.

T158 (T155 board galley, T156 unload, T157 travel, T158 attack). I've queued a Cuirassier in Ironclad which we can decide to rush-buy and board on T156 to be safe (with the other Cuirassier from RP). That'd mean 4 full health Cuirassiers on T159 + 10/12 health + 1 suicide.

Or if we want to go for more safety, we keep the city alive until T160 and send 6 Cuirassiers in all.

Damascus

I'd send another 3~4 here to be safe.

4 full health Cuirassiers on T159 + 10/12 health + 1 suicide should be safe against two defenders, and 3 full health will be safe against one.

Damascus seems to be weaker than expected. It looks like Anjar has siphoned off some defenders.

Good to hear for the bloody Jail. This will add 294g to our expenses... I'll give more Sushi resources away.

The extra Cuirassiers I want over there are for dealing with my RNG, possible hidden units and unforeseen movement by Napoleon.
