SGOTM 22 - Anti-TSR

ok, it's actually a pretty easy choice for Rome:

167 treb (we have an empty space on the last galley for Kufah
168 knight (can walk to Kufah in time to attack 171)
AW

Kufah will easily go down 171 which means some units can move thru the same turn and board 172 (attack Lali 174)

I calculate Lali's spy won't be -50% until 175. Do we wait that long? or just eat some EPs this time and try to plan better in the future?

And should we eat even more EPs and try to attack T173 (DoW 172?)

Prats will probably give something close to maxOF too. We could use that for grocer, if needed. And Taj if we can switch Zara out of it. Maybe we could end up halving the number turns having Taj at the top of the build queue, if no one else is building it.

But we probably want to accumulate a healthy stack of trebs asap.

Also, the cost differencee isn't really importantif we're getting 1 unit per turn on our most expensive unit, unless we want the cash from too many hammers.

Eat the EPs if you can capture sooner and accumulate the eps fast enough. Fastest finish. We'll have plenty of cash in the end. Plus, the sooner we beat down on Zara, the better our chances are for Taj and the sooner the cities we keep come out of resistance. It all adds up.

Do we delay the whole thing because our spy is not -50%? (DoW 174)
Or should we just attack as soon as we have 16 units to fill our galleys?

For each turn we attack early, it costs us ~60 EPs.

Problem is, if we attack early, then we will also be early to Aksum, so more EPs burned.
But seems worth it to me. We should be drowning in cash from conquest soon. Wait, we're already drowning.

I'm wondering how much we need Golden Ages. Yes, for civic switches, but other than that, it might be interesting to culture bomb another capital or two, if we spawn more artists.

In fact, you might consider safely moving our artist toward Zara. It will start a GA anywhere, of course, but if we get another, maybe we want to bomb Aksum. (Haven't studied the map yet with this in mind.)
 
I'm going to move the Anjar spy to Aksum causing us to get Calendar 1t later, but have an extra -10% EPs.

And I just saved another 10%, by finding a new spy dropoff (Lali NE). I can get the spy to Aksum T172.

yeah, we certainly want a 2person GA eventually, but burn 3 GPs? maybe not. Making a huge city come out of resistance 10 turns earlier and probably make movement easier, etc. Is probably a good way to spend our artists in this scenario. We won't be keeping even really good cities later in the game so now is the best time for another culture bomb. Unfortunately we really need to be back in Hindu. Anarchy?

I need the fort T169 for our returning spy-boat.
Can't do fort(10) and chop(3) with 4 workers.

Latest timeline: peace with Sal T171. DoW Zara 171. Lali 172. Rome was going to be ready then anyway for Baghdad in the first plan.
 
Great work, you two! I love all of the recent changes to the plan.

Are we still going to gift Hindu missionaries to Zara? Can we generate enough EP for a t172 city revolt in Lalibela without the 40% discount, if the spread fails?

Not sure we really need 2 pikes in Medina if the healer is there. WIth only 1 pike we might lose a defender if 2 WEs attack at once. Hopefully not the pike.

We don't know for sure that Sal will even attack with those WEs rather than defend Baghdad.
 
Try to have more spies coming down the pike, in case one fails. We'll still want to revolt Lali and Aksum, even at very high cost.
 
I'm thinking that in general new spies will want to be built near the front and returning spies will be used for tech stealing at a DaGift City near our capital. We'll want several for Zara steals that start fortifying very soon at our future DaGift site.

Good question. One turn anarchy might be worth the culture bomb or the espionage bomb.
 
Only planning 1 pike in Medina. Da will build hindus

New plan for T177 Aksum (Rome size 18 is the hard part)
We'd skip the 2nd workshop. Then, instead of treb, knight, AW, we have to do Aqueduct(2), AW(3)
We can put 96 into Aqueduct this turn for great overflow.
Then we re-farm the one workshop.

bah, another hiccup with our rush Zara plan. We have to gift the hindus before DoW. One was easy, but getting 2 there and waiting to see if they succeed might cause a delay. Lali might be back to T173 unless we just pray the spread works and go with 172 capture.

Da can whip Hindu T168 to get a 2nd one moving on T170. Unload/gift T171. DoW the same turn (making sure not to unload on top of the hindu. complicated boat movement with us still at war with Sal T170
