[BTS] SGOTM 25 - Home Slices

SHould we be chopping spies? Especially since we'll be out of slavery at a critical time for producing more spies.

Kait said we had 8 spies and we're building about 8. Whip those when they're around 25h and you get 2. That's 24.
Then a few more small cities jump in the game and make one. Feels like we have about 30 spies without bending over backwards. A few might be late due to the long walk. construction may help.

Isn't the capital going to make 500gpp without NE? So wouldn't we be better off doing the 600 using the NE. In capital...or Beijing? Who's doing the 600 GP?

Can we really get a 600GPP in time to be useful?
Would need Pacifism for rest of game.

Both Great Merchant and Great Scientist bulb Paper now.
Great Artist bulbs Divine Right.
The extra +4000:culture: would be a tiny bit useful, worth 2 or 3 points.

what else would we run? OR for wonder building? Not sure how many wonders our Tao cities can handle with (almost) no forests left.

Don't forget Yanan is going to be bureau soon, so running a bunch of priests for too long is not ideal.

Ouur cities will have to build something toward the end. COw Pie CIty can pump out a few Misses and other distant cities can whip WOnders at the end or whip MaxOF into wonders.

it's hurrycostmodifier in buildinginfos

I think all world wonders are 100
HE, NE are 50
Moai is the oddball at 100, but we can't build that.

edit: 50 just means -50%, so you use 90h base instead of 135. Essentially just cancels out the Kremlin.
edit2: Oops, I put my marathon brain back in. 30h base instead of 45.

This should help solve the problem. In fact, now it sounds familiar.
recaptured GoldCity just took Gua's old slot as #2 city

LowtherCastle documented an answer on the front page of Turbo Ants 23.
Thanks

m_cities is a funky variable-length array type (See FFreeListTrashArray.h for details). When you lose a city, its "spot" will get recycled (LIFO as far as I can tell), and if there are no free spots in the middle, then new cities are added to the end.

In 900BC, we:
  1. Gave away Fur City
  2. Gave away Hamburg
  3. Recaptured Fur City (goes in Hamburg's spot)
  4. Then in 875BC we captured Thebes (goes in Fur City's #2 spot)
ZPV's answer makes sense, but we gave away Gold City, Gua, and Shanghai, then immediately captured back Gua, Shanghai, and (Gold City) the following turn.
It still seems mysterious why Gua ended up at the end of the city list. :hmm:
LIFO stands for Last In First Out?, what's that mean?

**Edit**

Ohhhh, I see.
After Gua, Shanghai, and Gold city were given away, the #2, #6, and #16 spots in array opened up?
Then we took back Gua, which filled in #16, then Shanghai which became #6.
Next turn we took back Gold City, which became #2 city.

Here. With most national wonders, the Kremlin exactly cancels out the wonder penalty, so it's just like normal whipping.

The options we have are very numerous!

It is possible to tech Calendar and chop x6 in Chong to get Mausoleum of M. by Turn 57. (Have to DOW Japan T54, steal Korean Worker, have it chop forest on T56)
But, is it worth it to delay Currency 4 turns to get 4 more turns of Golden Age?

We would have 2 turns of STRIKE, but we could get +1:) from Silk.
We could also whip a Settler in Pigs City and then found Dye City on Turn 57.
Everyone would get +1:) again, and Pavillion cities would get +2:)

Currency would arrive on T59 using around 400 failure gold.
Can we get Construction by Turn 61 when it really matters? :hmm:

If we are going to pursue Calendar, 50% longer golden age, and a 600GPP great person, that means National Epic in Manchou I think.
Manchou already has a Library.
I'll have to check if Parthenon can be built/whipped in Mongolia in time for Golden Age.

600GPP should be a Great Artist for 3 more points?
Yanan would pop a Great Prophet/Great Merchant/Great Engineer for 500GPP on Turn 65.

The national epic city could only run 2 Artists once we left Caste on T62, so it could run all Merchants during Caste and get up to umm 360GPP by turn T62.
Then running 2 Artists, would get 453GPP on T65, and 577GPP when GA ends on T69.
Great Artist/Great Merchant on Turn 70?
It would be 58% ish Great Merchant chance.

I'm not sure a 6th Great Person is worth running so many specialists in Manchou.
It could make extra spies to get more points out of Legendary City, or produce military+wonder.
Or we could just have cities whip Libraries and then later whip National Epic for fail gold, turning population directly into gold.

National Epic whip is 60:hammers: per pop in any city with a Library thanks to Kremlin.

Colossus might be best in Yemen.
The city struggles to do anything except steamroll Mumbai, so Yemen building Colossus would free up Tsing to spam Spies.

Interesting idea. Currency would be worth 18cpt right now, whereas golden age seems like >50cpt + the additional hammers and gpp, though this all comes very late in the game.

When do we tech Theology and where do we build AP? I'm not too too worried about Roosevelt getting it, but he can research it right now. Is it worthwhile putting some :espionage: on him to see his research.

Do we get any value from a GM so late? GA, GP or GE could all give instant points, GM not so much.

I'm leaning towards focusing on Theo + AP before it becomes a problem vs. bending over backwards to get 4t on our GAge or a 600gpp birth or Colossus, etc.
