Making peace should reduce WW so yield lot of gold. On the other hand it would be very king of rome to weaken themselves against Japan for us. I prefer the latest. After we take that continent we should have advanced flight and be able to take on the vikings/english.

Be careful! Galloglass at Galeon. I saw how it come.. Kalmar is important City:
Malme is under direct hit from Kalmar's Bombers. We are at peace now, but Vikings have MPP with Japan. We also still have MPP with Romans. (I thought it is over.) In worst case scenario Vikings will attack Rome IBT, trig war via MPP and get Kalmar. May be better to bombard this Galeon? 2 Bombers is enough to sink it...

0 1350 AD Decided to stay and regroupe. We need three Cities from Vikings. Make RoP with Romans for 3 gpt.
1. 1355 AD: I understand: Vikings will not give up City with Lux/Res or with wonder. Therefore we may hope to get Oslo. Bombard Ore, O… and Vast… Now Vikings agree for 2 Cities but not three. Will think. Japan may give Edo and Nagasaki. Good.
Sell steel to English. For safety sell steel to Romans for MPP and 24 gpt.
Now Vikings agree to give up 3 Cities. Make peace. Also make peace with Japan. Rush Lib in Ravena. Mobilize. Peking have 86 spt, Thermophile 80 spt, Washington and Boston 78 spt. Athens 70 spt. With disband obsolete units they produce 1 Cav/turn.
Mass production 6 turns.
2. 1360 AD Nothing.
3. 1365 AD. Stack of our Cavs move south. Many Japanese… Bombard Viking’s galleon. Left frigate alive. Vikings bombard our tile. Rome declare Vikings.
4. 1370 AD Sink Vikings galleon at their water. Japan declare us. Fight with Japans near Palmyra. Sell Spices to England.
5. 1375 AD Capture Chengu. Fight with Japans near Palmyra.
Bombard Oslo.
6. 1380 AD. The same. MT at 4 turns…
7. 1385 Break through japan defence near Palmyra.
8. 1390 AD Capture Caseria. Japan still do not want talk. May take Oslo and Kalmar but postpone for next.
9. 1395 AD Japan attack Caseria and Rome declare to Japan. Caseria survive. Attack and kill Japan near Caseria. Make Peace with Vikings for Oslo and Kalmar. Our MPP with Romans was not canceled. Don’t know why.
10. 1400 AD Fight carefully with Japan to avoid Vikings attack. Rush airport in Oslo and Caseria (Disband bombers)
11. 1405 AD Part of turn. We may attack Vikings or Japan at their land.

we can get 2 luxes for electricity from rome. could trade for them now, take out japan then claim roman territory. Then we'll have all 8 luxes and no more finacial problems. Maybe stop science after computers to save gold?
Must ty to get all island cities via peace talks to finish faster.

Ok, but K-Alex prefer careful war, AFAIK. To get Malmo we have to bombard it (From Kalmar).
We must have many bombers there to disband for rifelmen if Vikings appear nearby. Recon with Fiters.
Better to trade refining to English. Electricity leads to RepParts. Trade Refining to English first and then to Romans for 2 Lux + gold. We need AF for small Islands. Not sure that we need Computer at all.
 
Might not need computers but I think modern armor is way better then a tank, more movement and 50% more attack for 20 shields more. Besides it's just 1 more tech. But as long as the AI doens't have infantry tanks are fine.

Well, nerovats wanted to also play at the weekend in his Friday's post, so, I thought I wasn't up and, of course, I didn't play until now. I'll play on Sunday and try to finish early, if I'm still up, according to Ivan's roster(or, maybe, I'll play earlier).

I had a quick look at the save, not so careful.

We have all what we need except AF. We don't need any other techs after AF(modern armors require 3 techs, if we went on modern ages, and it doesn't worth the time: we'll have finish the game by then; we don't even need mechs: what to do with them? We don't need defence but offence, as simple infantries are more than enough to face what the enemies have).
All we need is AF, shut down research and raise the luxury slider enough to keep our citizens happy(more luxuries would also help).

I wouldn't trade any more techs to anyone, unless we're that desperate for more gold. Are we? I'll have to see the save again.

We're demobilised now, since we have peace with the Vikings: I think, we should mobilise again.
All we need to build is bombers and tanks(bombers will play the role of artillery, so we need more of them).

I definetly have to download CivAssist to see how much territory we own.

Question: couldn't we go straight ahead for AF? Do we need Radio first? I never researched with that order so I'm curious about it.

The Vikings won't declare to us if we won't attack Japan on it's territory this turn(if we haven't used all of our bombers yet). The only thing to worry is a sneak attack by the Vikings IBT at Kalmar. If we're afraid of that, we should bombard that galleon now(and declare to the Vikings again), and demand Malmo later on and keep bombarding it(as well as demand other small island cities).

Better to trade with England and Rome now, as Ivan suggested: soon enough, we'll have a go on them, before they research any useful techs(Malmo would be a great base on the English island).
 
Radio isreq for AF, after AF we'll be in modern times and go straight for Computers. As said might not need it, but if played well we don't need AF anymore either.

We stil need a city on the english continent (with airstrip), but might be ok to mobilize for now.

Take the vikings ship, demand Malmo and we can stop science now. Get the luxes form rome, we'll deal with them in about 10 turns.

We'll continue our war with Japan, anyway, so, I'll get a bit war hapinnes for our people by bombing Japan and force the Vikings to declare to us(we get to sink that annoying Viking galleon as well amd eliminate and risk of losing Kalmar).
I increase science to 90%, Radio in 5(we'll research AF anyway to be sure, and, maybe, we'll make an attempt to Amphibious War JUST in case).

Bombing Osaka and destroy barraks, temple, library and marketplace.
Bombing Malmo and destroy it's harbor and reduce the city to pop 6.

Malmo now has pop 4. Keep bombarding Osaka and Goteborg, attack Osaka but the city still has 1 pike left... Sell WM for 2g.

Rome razes Osaka.

Bring Malmo down to pop 1. Capture Goteborg.

1420AD (3)
We capture 2 workers and Upsala(Viking) and we now control Leonardo's Workshop(although, maybe it's a bit late now for it, but anyway, we'll keep it).
We capture Kyoto and control Bach's Cathedral, Oracle and the Great Library( :lol: ), and we also capture 2 workers and 3 cannons. We also capture Nagoya.
I decide to mobilize again, at least, until we make peace once more time, mobilization will last(should have do it from the start of my turns).

1425AD (4)
We capture Bjoergvin and Stockholm. We capture Cagoshima, abandon Nagoya(we don't have many forces left to guard all over the place, and besides, there isn't anything valuable in the city's strategical position, and I also don't want flips).

We learn Radio --> Advanced Flight in 5 turns at 90% science.
Rome captures Izumo.

We capture Linkoping and Norrkoping. We capture Tokyo.

1435AD (6)
We capture Yokohama and Nara, and Japan is out of the game. We capture Jonkoping(Vikings won't talk so far, but I won't take their capital Nidaros on their "home" island: there're better cities on small islands to demand first, and Malmo is on of them).
With Japan's destruction, mobilization is gone, so I mobilize once again. Sell WM for 7g.

1440AD (7)
Sell Dyes to England for 16gpt, Wines for 15gpt. Sell WM for 3g. Next target is Rome, so I trabsfer units over there: once we get rid of Rome, we can transfer our excess units to the upcoming war with England(Perhaps, this is the last time I play).
Make absolutely SURE to use Mapstat or CivAssist to see how many land do we have, after you capture cities: if we add Rome's cities, we approach Domination a bit, so just capture 1-2 English cities for 1 turn to secure position and then abandon them the next turn.
The Vikings still don't want to talk: I'm waiting to get Malmo.

Rome has unload some cavs at Malmo!!! I saw it as I was trying to bombard the city(I failed to bambard at first and I stopped there): I don't know if Malmo will hold, and the DAMN Vikings still don't want to talk!!!

1450AD (9)
Rome captured Malmo and begun settling the empty areas on it's home island.
I hurry the library at Byzantium, as we don't want to lose it in a flip: we won't have other alternatives to strike England before we finish off Rome.
I'm so pissed off that Rome captured Malmo, that I'm thinking to break the MPP(it's only 1 more turn, besides the current one). We'll have to attack after a few turns anyway, so, why waiting? We also need to have OUR luxuries and we have already spoiled our reputation earlier in the game.

We capture Lugdunum(abandon it), Pompeii(keep it for it's Furs), Antium(keep it for it's Wool), Izumo(has Ivory), we auto-raze Seleucia, capture Palmyra, Satsuma, and Cumae.
Sell WM for 1g.

I'll stop here, as usual(most units have their movement), so the next player and the Team can decide things.

I set some cities to paratroopers and helicopters: once we capture a few small cities and we get a foothold at England, we should hurry an airport and continue building tanks. Leave the Viking and Roman city at the small island SW of Thermopylae(FP) for the end.

You can also decide where to send some bombers from the Viking island: use them wisely first as "artilleries", and then attack with the land units.

DO NOT FORGET to check our Territory to avoid Domination, as we reach towards the end of the game. Continue with mobilization.

It is not so silly as you think. Mariners much stronger then Infs and can be loaded in Helicopter.

Now that I think of it, I also forgot 1 more thing: we don't need to build paratroopers, since we CAN transport our units with helicopters, so, change paratroopers to tanks.

IMHO, the "weak"-shield cities should build helicopters and RUSH them after a couple of turns with our income, so the strong-shield cities can continue building tanks.

If the Vikings agree to talk, demand that 2-tile island SE of their "home"-island, as well as their city at the tundra-island.
 
Tanks should be built in cities with 50 to 60 spt or 100+ spt. Bombers in cities with 80spt or 40-50spt. This will maximize effeciency.

How close are we currently to domination limit? Do we have a ciy on the English mainland yet?

Bombers also 100 schields. I think you meant Helicopters. We cant load tank and Cav to Helicopter. So paratroopers may be useful.

I played, just 3 more turns left for the last player I think.
Didn''t keep exact turnlog as most of it speaks for itself.
Started war with english on first turn. After coquering a city I made peace to rush airport and transport units. Got the island cities form vikings in peace talks then finished them. Took the rome island city with para's, got malmo for peace then finished them too.

Made I huge mistake, leaving Malmo with a load of bombers and no defence... Don't think it cost us in terms of win date but lost 20-30 bombers. Lateron I lost some more in a flip.
