SGOTM8 - Ivan

910AD (5)
Sell WM for 6g. No other trades possible.

920AD (6)
Sell WM for 3g.

IBT
Rome completes Smith's Trading Company, and they begin Magellan's. Rome just went Industrial.
England begins Magellan's.

930AD (7)
Diseace stroke Thermopylae 2 times the last turns, and it went to back to pop 6.
Sell Japan Saltpeter for 14gpt: our worker roads the forest in Pharsalos, and next is going to make a saltpeter colony(fortify it with the spear/knight).
The Vikings can give only 4gpt for our horses: I don't think it's a good offer.
Sell WM for 3g.

940AD (8)
I'll finish my turns here for this round(I'll play less turns this time).
The current turn is INCOMPLETE, as a Roman galley appeared S of Beijing: the next player can move the units as he wants(there're also knights near Pharsalos and Knossos that could attack the next turn if they go now from there).

The Vikings haven't anything to offer for our horses.

We don't HAVE to attack the Roman units next turn, if we sign peace treaty, BUT, ATTACK them anyway(maybe we'll get a GL), and then sign Peace Treaty if you want.

I still believe that we shouldn't break our MA's: maybe, we'll new MA's against England this time with Rome on our side. Anyway, we'll future MA's to prevent the AI to research fast, and maybe, we'll get to make a WELL PREPARED RoP Rape(against either England, Japan or Rome, OR a COMBINATION of the prvious civs simultaneously  ) to finish the game sooner.

IMPORTANT: The Greeks just moved a settler/hoplite combo to the city S of their capital(former Chinese): we SHOULD make an MA against them before going for the "Nationalism" project, and wait for them to gift us the city before we destroy them(or wait for someone else to destroy it).

Save on server.

K-A, I did not understand this. May be we should build scout to observe where Greeks Galley go?
Where you lose turn? You may get Corparation in 5.
Conehead will deside about MAs. Note, next turn Tarentum will grow and we will be without City at all. We may also face WW if continue war for 20 turns more.

I haven't been able to look at the save cuz i've been busy during the past couple days. I will play tonight, and post the log by tomorrow.

I vote to take city. We don't need MA's once we get a good foothold (ai doesn't know how to use arties). We missed one chance allraedy. It's still a long way to advanced flight. Might be better to keep heading for flight on max, then half spead to get cash to rush airports and take over the island. When that's finished we should have advance flight. Rush heli's and hop over. Best way is to rush airport in first city I think, alows faster unit transfer. We probably need 4-6 airports or so on mainland.

@Ivan: I don't remember the city's name; I had just closed Civ when I remembered it. It's the city right next S of the current Greek capital. I have no idea if they'll manage to settle somewhere or not(I also don't know if they have any galleys left): I just mentioned what happened.

I know I missed 1 turn, but I cannot reload for that(it's forbidden); sorry.

I also vote for Tarentum. Do not trade optional Techs and we will have enough cash at max research.

1) OK, before Natioanalism operation we must inverstigat THAT City. If settler still there it is OK to attack.
2) you lost 542 gold. Write about your mistakes. ( I wrote, when I lost 22 gold.)

Do not Trade optional Techs even MT. Remember, that Steam is about 180 gpt, do not trade it for less.
(That mean, that no trades in your turns). Do not forget to renegotiate Ivory deal with Japan (to avoid disorder).

@Ivan: you mean, I lost 542g because we won't be able to drop the science rate just the last turn before we learn the Corporation? I shouldn't had forget to check it before starting playing again(I just found it on my 5th turn).

I hope, I won't bring disaster on the Team(542g is a lot of money).

No, afaik you swich from electricity next turn, 910 AD.
542 g is not a disaster, but may costs 1 turn to win...

Will play tonight and take city.
OK. Rush there spear in 2-3 turns. If Greeks settle somwhere declare them and try to demand new City.

Started playing yesterday, but then things came up, so continue tonight.
Took Tarentum, greeks have not yet settled.
The ivory deal has run out, can´t get it for resources anymore. Might get it when adding gpt. They would like steam, will get all teir (optional) techs and 25 gpt (maybe more).
What shall I do? If they don´t have coal they won´t be able to use the tech. Without ivory we have to increase lux and thus slow our research. We´re also down to +10gpt by ending deals, so I would like to sell out steam, help to keep science and we need gpt to rush stuf in Tarentum. There are 3 Japanese cities on that island so taking those should make them to gift a city on their mailand.

Add gpt. Move Sci slider and then put it back at 80%. We do not need any optional tech. Steam costs 180 gpt approximately.
Until somebody pay that much do not trade it. We have enough cash to stay until our English deals expire. Then I think they will pay us 180gpt for Steam.
We will not go to war at Japanise Island until flight.

I would prefer to boost luxury tax than sell steam. We need to maximize our tech advantage. Ideally we get advanced flight before the AI's get replaceable parts.

We might consider building temples and cathedrals in our core cities. It is a 220shield investment that gives 4 happy faces for 3GPT. It is not a great return but it may help with our happiness problems.

In short: Build a load of knights, improved lands, sold steam. Got 2 cities for peace.

Pre-turn
Give Rome peace for Tarentum WM 18 gold
960AD
Coprporation->refining
rush spear in Tarentum
970AD
get ivory for wines, dyes, gems and 5gpt form japan
1000AD
greeks have settled herakleia on rome island
try negotiating greece for new city, they won't give it
Take Shanghai and Xinjian, move units into capitols territory.
Another gpt deal with england finished try trading again
now get 110gpt navigation, MT 60 gold, take this as chances are they are gona research it themselves, and we're now running -50 gpt
Trade it to Japan too for Printing press 57gpt, 37gold, WM
rush harbor in Tarentum
1010AD
Tarentum harbor->rax
1030AD
adjust slider
get furs, silks and 3 gpt from rome they get steam, we gain 110gpt by setting lux to 0.
1040AD
set science at 100 steel in 5
rush rax in Tarentum
Get peace with greece for Herakleia WM 4 gold

Is it now ok to gift greece into new eara trade their free tech and finish them?
The knight are still usable this turn...
We got a foothold on 2 islands now, gaining 100gpt, so can rush harbor, rax, knights and take over those islands then get city at mainland for peace.

Instead of harbor better to build workers in Tarentum and build road to spicies. We wil get flight soon and airport will work as a harbors.
for sure "Nationalism operation" will work if somebody else will get it. After we trade Steam it become too cheap to trade for Nationalism.
If we are sure, that we will kill Greeks straight, we may try to changr Nationalism for steel and Refining.
I recomend stay in peace before flight.
Adrian up. May be it is resonable to build 5 Banks and Wall Street?
Or we need 5 Stock Exchanges? How this game moded?
