Shamanism apparently neither has benefits nor does it lead to other techs... is it a bug?

Not all religion giving techs lead to other techs. Some do some don't. They All used to be Dead end but the Tech tree has been fiddled with since then.

All religions were changed to be on an "empty" tech. Mostly they are dead end techs except where one religion leads to another.
