So you have a gorgeous start.:) You play it out to a great victory for yourself.:king::goodjob::D So what then? I say, share the wealth! If you have the 4000 BC save, post it here, maybe with a screenshot and basic info about settings so that other players can enjoy some of your luck. If you are concerned about level of play, with basic information, a new save can be created at the desired level. So if you want to share, this is the place.

Excellent idea!

I don't have anything for the moment, but I'd like to see some nice seafaring starts on emperor (not Carthage, lots of commerce and maybe some beef). I'd like to do a 20k with Spain, Portugal or Vikings. So if you've got some old saves - upload please!

:)

For 20ks:
Spain Standard Deity: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2535
Portugal Standard Deity: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2399
Portugal Large Deity: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2482
Portugal Large Demi-God: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2396
Byzantines Large Demi-God: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2389
Byzantines Standard Sid: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2398
Byzantines Standard Deity: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2398
Portugal Standard Deity (no river): http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2395
Russia Standard Warlord (with raging barbarians): http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2406
Byzantines Huge Warlord: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2425

I really do need to start playing the Dutch more, don't I?

You can find screenshots in the links given there, but beware... spoilers also await there. I can give a nice Standard Sid Carthage and a nice Small Deity Carthage here in a few days once the update comes out.

For a more military game, here's a standard Deity Maya game http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2536

For research games with lots of scientific opponents see these:
Standard Demi-God Sumeria: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2533
Standard Demi-God Sumeria: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2506
Standard Deity Sumeria: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2506
Standard Deity Korea: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/game_info.php?entryID=2423

I can provide a Huge faster tech pace game with Sumeria in a few days also.

Here is a nice DG Ottoman map:

The save:

How did you get that world properties thing?

CivAssist 2, in the world map tab, right click menu, properties. It also shows opponents, which I deliberately hid for spoiler reasons.

Edit: thetrooper, if you have a good seafaring tribe map, I can use the seed and plug in the Vikings at your desired level.

Best I tell is that even when you use every setting, including nations the same order, it still will not be perfect match. The more changes the farther it seems to be form the original. I tried a few times in the past to match posted games, but with limited results.

I know I've gotten Mathias's "parade of cattle" start with tribes other than the Celts using the seed, same number of opponents, and the same settings (amount of water, temeperature, wetness, age).

Thanks Spoonwood for posting those starts. I'll take a look at them when opportunity knocks.

@TheOverseer714: I'll check out Spoonwood's starts before I try Scandinavia. Thanks for the proposal though.

:)

Thetrooper:

I'd be interested to know which starts you've tried and how your game(s) goes.

I'm afraid that I'm not at a computer where I can get to my saves, take screenshots, etc. However, in the story that I started here, there's a 3-cow, riverside start as the Romans in a Monarch level game. IIRC, it's a pangaea, 60% water. There's a screenshot posted in the first post and the save is in the 3rd post. I haven't finished playing out the game or posting the story, but eventually, I will.

Sorry to the Mac fans, but no. I'm sure a great programmer could port it to Mac, but no one ever did.
