April 1941

North America

The Confederacy continued its drive north, taking its arms to places no previous Confederate general has dreamt of. Hit and Run tactics were used by the Union defenders, however this was to no avail as the Confederate barrels led by General Patton, time and time again punched through. Colombus, the capital of Ohio fell on April 5th not even a month since the start of the war, and by April 28th Confederate troops had reached Sandusky on Lake Eire, cutting the United States (proper) in two. Whether this would be enough to knock the United States of America out of the war remains to be seen. This is while bombers of both sides went after each other’s cities, oil rigs, air fields and industrial centres.

Further north the flow of arms into Canada ceases as Russian outposts are mercilissley bombed throughout Alaska. One by one the rebels melt back into the underground and by the end of the month Union and Quebecois troops have put down this latest Canadian rebellion. In relation to this, President Al Smith tried to pass the Canadian Freedom Act, allowing Canadian provinces to join the United States as states. It was defeated in the US House of Representatives with an overwhelming majority however, a setback to the administration. However as a boost on 30th April 100,000 German troops had reached the United States and next month would be ready to help their allies in their struggle.

In the Carribean Sea a huge fleet of US warships descended on what was once considered a CS lake. Lading troops in Cuba the fleets of the two great American powers battled for three nights and four days before disengaging. Losses on both sides were grevious and the diminished naval power now facing the American powers may have ramifications elsewhere, especially as the Union troops who have now captured half the island state of Cuba battle gureillas around every corner and have had their main supply route cut.

South America

Brazil began with the full mobilization of its economy commencing, and an alliance drawn up with the Republic of Chile in the south. On April 10th the first leading units of the Brazilian invasion army crossed the border of Bolivia, with two days later the 1st Army from Chile crossed into southern Bolivia. By the end of the month most of Bolivia had been occupied and only the staunch resistance of a few diehards kept Bolivia a going concern.

Further south Argentine forces completed the annexation of Uraguay, the nation ceasing to exist, and its government going into exile to Rio de Jannerio. Meanwhile British and Argentine ships begin pounding Brazilian ports along the Atlantic Ocean while Brazilian submarines seek out Argentine shipping, which is on course to Britain to help feed the island nation. Indeed it seems this war has only just begun.

Western European Front

The Belgian lay down their arms to the French.

Germany began the month by strategically withdrawing its troops to the Rhine River defensive postions, a formidable line of defense in depth that will be hard to crack. Meanwhile as the economy kicked into full mobilization the Kaiser himself traveled to major German cities throughout the Reich and rallied the citizens against the French and Russian menace! Albert Speer was used to re-organize war production boosting German industrial might and von Papen united the member states of the Germanic Empire for a single cause, to crush the fascisti.

As the French moved up to take the ground generously left vacant from the German troops they found out to their dismay that millions of mines were laid in this small area and heavy tool on machinery and men ensured as they land continued to be taken. While this was happening, the German Army was regrouping and on the 15th of April the 1st Panzer Army led by Erwin Rommel and supported by the Luftwaffe of Air Marshall Goering punched through the French lines near the Swiss border and proceeded to encircle the French Army, causing the French 2nd Army to withdraw towards the north and Belguim. By the end of the month Alasce and Lorraine had been liberated from French occupation and German troops stood on French soil for the first time.

Meanwhile the bombing campaign of the German Reich continued as many major cities suffered from the dual attentions of Britain and France. Meanwhile British shipping began to suffer with German U-boats sinking the needed supplies for this island nation.

The Italians and the French reached a stalemate along their border as the Italians withdrew to prepared postions along the alps and the French were content to sit there and not attack. An Italian naval landing near Marseilles was again pushed back as the French navy ready for such an ambushed the Italian Fleet and caused it to retreat or suffer destruction.

At sea the German fleet has closed the Baltic Sea off to all non-German aligned shipping.

Eastern European Front

On the Eastern front of war of attrition continues as Polish, German and Livonan troops continue to hold the Russian hordes at bay as they continue their relentless march west. On 15th of April the entire Russian Baltic fleet was destroyed and the day later the Russian occupation of Tallin in the north of Livona came to an abrupt halt as the Finnish 5th Army landed near and liberated the city.

Meanwhile the Finnish front remains exceptionally static (for this war anyways) with not much happening there other than digging trenches, shelling, barbed wire and digging more trenches to replace the ones that have been lost.

Bulgarians, Greeks and Austrians crush the Romanian rebellion and send the leaders to the gallows.

Meanwhile the Igrun keep up their bombing campaign culimating in White Square outside the Kremlin killing Sergey Nokloivich who headed up the RRIS and was responsible for the construction of Anchorage Extermination Camp in Alaska.

The Ottoman Empire launches its long awaited invasion through the Caucsus and despite heavy losses they are able to use superior numbers against the Russians to break out into the plain and breakthrough to the Caspian Sea. A small amount of the Ukraine is 'liberated' much to the unliking of the citizens there and gureillas are a constant worry. That and the Russian Enclave of Georgia continues to hold out with many Armenians living there in exile after the Ottoman genocidal campaigns after the Great War. Is this only a breif period of good luck for the Turkish leadership or will it lead to the Turkish dream of domination over the region??

The war gets intresting in the Ukraine.

SEE SPOTLIGHT. (hehe)

African Front

This month went badly for the Axis in Africa as South Africa declared itself independent of the British crown on April 3rd and then proceeded to invade Rhodesia. British holdings in Africa have become isolated landlocked possessions now and it is well known in the British House of Commons that Africa has been lost to them. This followed by the surrender of the Sudanese forces on April 20th to Ottoman and German/Egyptian forces (your reinforcements failed to arrive in time there Jason) means all bad news for the British crown.

Meanwhile the French withdrawal to Tunisa was thrawted as the Italian landing force destined to Marseilles was diverted to Africa after the naval defeat, landing behind the regrouping French. The French consequently caught between two Italian forces was scattered and withdrew into the desert, leaving the city of Tunis to, Italian occupation.

Then on April 16th German colonial forces in the Congo invaded French North Africa from the south and captured all the major commercial centres of the colony in the south within 14 days a testament to the training of German troops, even those stationed in colonial areas.

Central Asian Front and Arabia

The mujahadeen of the jihad against the Rusian imperialism continued this month with a major Russian force being routed towards the area. Unfortuantley due to Igrun bombings of the transportation system the Russian army has only been able to arrive recently and thus operations have yet to really begin. Meanwhile the rebellion continue to grow with even those muslims in China beginning to flock to the mufti’s banner.

In India a Hindu by the name of Gandhi leads millions of Indians on a campaign on peaceful resistance against the British imperialists. They ask for British independence and it is unknown yet if the British crown will allow their wish, Indian independence in return for loyalty during the war.

Lastly the British tried to invade Ottoman Arabia from Yemen however were beaten back by overwhelming Ottoman numbers and by the end of the year the British forces were forced to reatreat to Eritrea surrendering another British colony to the enemy.

SPOTLIGHT

‘The future of all civilized nations rides on the defense of the Ukraine from the numberless Russian hordes!’ – King Constatine III of Geece.

The war in the Ukraine was always going to favor the Russian Empire. The people of the Ukraine were very pro-Russian and were forcibly torn away from the Tsar’s domains at the end of the Great War by the imposed Treaty of Brest-Litvosk. They were held for 20 years under the control of an oppressive puppet regime of the Austrian Reich and when they saw their chance they rebelled against this authority.

However it was the entry of the Ottoman Empire into the Ukrainian fray in the second month of the way that not only startled many Ukrainaians but threw them into action, against their former Austrian overlords. The Ottoman landing in the Crimea (which at that time was rebelling from the puppet government anyways), followed by their invasion of Caucsus, was the catalyst not for a Freedom Alliance victory like it was hoped, but to the Axis taking control over ¾ of the Kingdom. The burning of homes and crops and the continued use of scorched earth including the summary executions of all rebels led to the Ukrainian people once and for all joining the Russian side in the war.

The Austrian Reich, Bulgaira, Greece and Germany faced with numberless civilians ready to die for their cause were forced back across the River Dnepr (??) to continue the defence of Kiev. On April 20th the Ukrainian King formally dissolved the puppet parliament as they and the Ukrainan army was split between those who supported Russia and those who supported Austria. By April 30th the rot in the Ukraine had grown to such a measure that the Austrian army commander formally took control over the Ukraine Military District and the King of the Ukraine fled into exile in Vienna.

It remains to be seen if the Austrian led defenders of the remnants of the Ukraine can hold out or if the Russian hordes who have reached Bulgarian and Austrian territory for the first time this month will just simply surround them and swallow these valiant defenders whole.

PURCHASES ARE DUE THIS TURN: ORDERS ARE DUE IN 72 HOURS FROM NOW. (I am abadoning the schedule and will just give you 48 hours for every normal turn from update posting and 72 hours for every purchases turn.)

Now I have also decided to keep the rules the same, however all Production points for each and every nation will be upgraded to allow for sufficent resources to replace losses.

Thanks Sheep. Looking forward to it. A good day to be German I must say. :D

I received yours orders well after the update, the ships have only just departed harbor. Sorry mate.

Having said that check the story bonuses. South Africa was a dominion of Britian and thus subject to British control. Australia and New Zealand have come under your direct control.

Uuh, what happened in eastern karelia? there's nothing about it in the update...
PURCHASES ARE DUE THIS TURN
Do you mean that the stuff will be ready this turn or do you want new build orders?

You purchase what you want and its ready THAT turn. Less paperwork for me.

I'm still wondering about the logistic support. it's in the rules but I don't really see the point in it, it just marginally slows down everyones production. and you still didn't answer to what happened to my eastern front...

edit: and I suppose we won't be able to use our newly purchased units on this turn, correct?

KArelia offensive was swamped with numbers and never originated.
