Possibly. Begs the question whether the "choose free tech bonus" is random or not, or if you can choose a free tech with each ruin discovered (which sounds to me a bit broken IMO)

Oh, that just made me a little sad. In my mind, Shoshone couldn't choose same thing from ruins twice, so only one free tech. So far so good.
But i forgot to think about what free tech will you get. Now i feel like GL run i thought about is just way to speculative and hazardous, since you might get something useless.

    Pocatello.

Since the leader animation's mouth has to match the voice actor, I suspect an animated leader is the last thing done (and probably is not done for the Pueblo). Plus, Popé and Pocatello look nothing alike.

ETA: I attached a comparison shot (quality is a bit low) of the two concept arts.

Not that that ever stopped them from choosing Maria I for Portugal!
I kid, I kid! :mischief: But seriously, why Pocatello? Not that I know much of The Shoshone, but usually people were suggesting Washakie...

Maybe Dandolo insisted on being the oldest leader in the expansion.

Guys, do keep in mind that Pocatello were the last civ to be designed for sure (well, I think) and were simply a quick replacement for Pueblo.

Okay, you're right, I forgot what the Pope concept art looked like. I just remembered the hairstyles, which look sort of the same.

My guess is that the Pathfinder's 'pick bonus from ruin' ability will first check which bonuses are available and then give the player an option to choose from those, instead of just giving them a list of all bonuses every time and letting the player choose. According to this thread, you can't get the same bonus in a ruin that you got in any of the last three ruins (except for gold), so I would assume that you wouldn't be able to pick a bonus that you chose from any of the last three ruins. The upgrade bonus would probably allow you to upgrade only once, as it does now.

And you can only get ancient techs anyway.

Does anyone have any thoughts on a hypothetical Shoshone city list?

They could draw on band names or present-day settlement names.

There were hundreds of historical Western tribes and place names. It would be very easy to come with a list.

I think that these guys will be great for a wide empire, and especially Order ideologies. Hmmm...Communist Native Americans, that's something I've never heard of before.

Going a bit off tangent, one can win with any civ in G&K while going Tall at higher difficulties. There's no reason to expect Shoshone cannot win without have to go Wide.

LoL, I know of no Native American with much facial hair, my Great Grandmother (on my father's side of the family tree) was 100% Comanche, and my Great Great Grandmother (on my mother's side of the family tree) was 100% Blackfoot. That has been a long running "joke" on why none of us guys in the family can grow beards :)

But hey, here's some cool Shoshone music with a "slideshow"

Well I do. My Freshman teacher was an Algonquin descendant. I think his last name was Ostidgbhd, idk. Anyway, he had a 3 inch beard

You are telling me, being half Kaqchikel I have never been able to grow any facial hair and I don't know single family member in Guatemala who ever has. With my German relatives I joke its a blessing in disguise
