Haha! See, but that's just backing up my theory that they distract you from the posts! ;)

Speakeasy is the only other site I've participated in that has animated avatars. In genral their novelty wears off in about 2 minutes and they become very distracting and annoying and SE a tiny site. If they were permitted at CFC and in OT, I imagine it would be terrible. Like others, I prefer a larger avatar to one that spins, gyrates, flexes or flashes.

If creating them is such fun you should do and post them on your blog page. We can all go there to see them and be amazed. If creating them to annoy others is the "fun" part, then we have seen through your scheme and you will be denied. :D

To carry on Birdjaguars idea how about maybe just allowing the animated avatars on the user CP in place of the current profile picture?

That way they wouldn't be a distraction to everyone on the threads but would still allow users who like them to post one for themselves.

What's with the pics on the first post?

All I see is bert holding a baby.

We don't need to clog up the forum any more, sites with animated avatars are really slow loading.

Shows up really well on the black style...

Now to make this a constructive post: definitely no. Birdjaguar is definitely right about the novelty quickly wearing off. Although I could maybe go with a profile picture being animated.

The lock one is disturbingly dangerous. No one warned me of the dangers of upsetting cheerleaders.:suicide:

I think that animated avatars could be a good thing, but only if its approved by a mod or someone else in a postion of power.

I can imagine your avatar animated, but yeah, that could sort of be a badge of office. But then again, it's also elitist.

No. They're extremely annoying, as you can tell from the images you posted.

Shall I help you old man? ;)
If TF lets us have animated avatars, this it gonna be the one I'll be using. Ask yourself the question: do you or do you not want to see this? :p
