Should I try upgrading to FF3 again?

Last time I had speed problems, even with tweaks, (I am behind a router.) and some of my favourite extensions didn't work. But I just checked again, and these extensions upgraded.

So, should I try it again? How can I prevent the slow speed? I have the 3.00 installer, but from what I heard, there's 3.01 or something, which should I use?

Thanks, and sorry for my blabbing.

You should always use the latest release as long as its not a beta. Usually, they contain a few security updates which are important to have.

I am currently using 3.0.1 and its running fine.

Okay, just upgraded again.

I noticed the browser is really slow on sites with lots of graphics. Any idea? They work(ed) fine in FF2 and IE7. Thanks.

Maybe you changed something in FF2 that made it faster? Other than that, I dont know why they would be faster in FF2 and not 3..

Random thought: Cache and Proxy Settings.

If you've told FF to Clear your personal data it might also be wiping your cache.

I've tried that. Also tried tweaking the about:config settings. And checked firewalls.

As experiment, I left the browser open on a site that was loading slow. Went to bed. Next morning, was still loading.

Yay! I figured it out.

I uninstalled Adblock, and replaced it with Ad Block Plus. And it's fast again!

I tested it by disabling each add-on, one by one, and re-enabling.. Tedious, but it worked.
