Should the Elloheim be able to get Auric Ascended?

The Tolerant trait isn't supposed to give you world units, but all of the Illians UU's are spawned by rituals. The Preists, Drifla, and Auric are all attainable if you capture an Illian city. Is this an oversight or intentional?

Auric+Chilad+Drifla+Archerorn+Corrindale are a really powerful and fast team...

Looks like a loophole, but the FfH team doesn't mind such loopholes sometimes.

Who are the Elloheim for that matter?

The official Illian hero, Wilboman, does not come from

(In my version I use python to limit such rituals to LEADER_AURIC only. Of course, I also take Tolerant away from the Elohim and give it to Decius, a la FF.)

The answer to the topic is yes, they should be allowed to gain cool stuff. TVTropes would call this the rule of cool.

Also- prior to them being able to create the Borg of Erebus, the Elohim were continually put down as one of the worst civs to play, with their gut-check world spell and hero who could save you a second time for twenty turns. Now, they are one of the more fun civs to run as you can rampage through spreading your message of peace, love, and death to the Infernals.

Sadly, Auric isn't really that cool. Neither is Drifa, for that matter.

Just forbid the unique rituals for the Elohim.

I dunno, their world spell lasts so long its like a kill a civ no risk ticket. It doesn't prevent you from attacking them, and if you have high culture you can bombard, whittle down, and kill them city by city without any possible retribution.

Its true, Auric isn't cool, the dragon is pretty good though as it can level up pretty high and give it blitz. The priests of winter are very good too, and they come along with monks so they have good synergy.

I do like using the rituals, but its kind of odd to get Auric from killing him.

This type of stuff generally makes sense if you think of things you build in a roleplay sense. Elohim take over Illian lands, the Illians who live there continue to pursue their icey rituals, Elohim don't do anything about it, and the original goal of bringing back the God of Winter goes off successfully because it didn't occur to anybody to invade the Elohim to prevent it, or to the Elohim to actually crack down on the batshit insanity that was happening in the colonies.

But the elohim would do something about it. their personality is all about protecting erebus. They would sense the danger that auric poses, and put a stop to it. The illians would have more chance of finishing their rituals if they were vassalised by the clan or somesuch.

I don't think the worshipers of Mulcarn's old enemy Bhall would be more likely to allow the rise of a new God of Ice.

I suppose some Elohim might reason that siding with the God of Stasis might be the best way to preserve Erebus, but only if their war with the Infernals was going very badly and they feared that the end of Erebus was fast approaching.

In one of my games, the Elohim managed to capture few Sheaim cities and finished Elegy of Sheaim on them. A few turn later, the same Elohim finished the Hallowing. It was repeated for few turns. Elegy then Hallowing, then Elegy again... etc. I wonder how the role can explain this :))

Will a py in function which makes The Deepening (IIRC) requires killing one civ can be used to prevent this Elohim ritual-abuse?
