Ah ok, good to hear. I meant both drawing lines and tile signs by the way.
That has got to be my favorite new feature though. I'll be able to make notes to myself so when I leave the game then come back later on, I'll remember exactly it was I was trying to accomplish.
It is about 12:00 pm here and 5 pm in the UK. If I post it at 5-8pm here it'll probably be 10pm-1am in the UK. So technically you might not see it until tomorrow even though I said it'll be posted today (but yet, I would still have kept my word).
It's also possible that I might post the update earlier (depending on how tedious I find updating the article to be today).
One nitpick: sometimes you spell "forest" with a second r (forrest). You can control + F on the page to find them all. Otherwise, good job, thanks for you hard work.
I have yet to see any mention of whether or not you can tell what techs the AI is researching or which ones they alreay know. Perhaps some kind of chart that shows where everyone is in the tech race. Also, is there a "predetermined" or "favored" path AI controlled leaders will take? Fabulous stuff here, thanks Civrules.
Since the beginning of organised human warfare there have been elite units in every army. There have alwways been soldiers who have been trained to a higher degree than the rest of the army. That's were the Civ4 unit upgrade system then jumps in. This is where the game tries to make individual units in the armys of all civilizations able to set themselves apart from being normal mainstay units to become the elite, specialised units.
Furthermore, each civilization has a special unit which they produce instead of another unit all others civilization's can make at a certain time and technology. This feature has been added since civ3. And I believe it takes away the realism of the game. Every civilization should have the ability to make all the mainstay units, that every civilization is able to build, PLUS their special units. For example; Cossacks were an 'ELITE' cavalry force which was a devision in the Russian cavalry. The Russians had both the normal cavalry unit and the cossack! French had musketeers and musketmen, America has both F-15 and the interceptor. Why not give us the choice!
To my main point; NAVY SEALS!! REPLACING MARINES!!! US marines have been important to US's modern warfare !! I think the designer's have forgoten that to take their pills! If one has the ability to uprade their units than Marines can become Seals one way or another if you are bothered to upgarde them. Britain were the first to use commando's by the way, and used them to great affect in WW2. But unfortunately, they overlooked that and created an absolutely useless special unit. It's to specific. It is as if you replace rifleman with snipers! The upgrades do that!! For America(now called USA in Civ4) they should have left an airplane as an important unit since, at present, USA is the counrty seen with greatest air supiriorty and it has always used it through out it's warefare since the middle 20th Century. Maybe a special gunship helicopter should be made for the US civ, that can help ease rioting in captured cities when fortified in that city (As seen through out in cold war to present US wars; From Vietnam to Iraq ). Seal units should be removed or the player should have the chose of building both the marine and the seal! It is to specified and Marines have been more relavent to US's histroy of warfare. *
Moderator Action: Color changed to black. Too difficult/annoying for some people to read.
