It's not a real holiday. We have all sorts of days in America. We even have Secretaries Day. We don't exactly get the day off for that.

We have as many holidays as medieval Christians had Feast Days... because we REALLY need to celebrate the sacrifice of Eleutherius of Nicomedia, don't we?

small states often do these types of corny things. They weird things for other industries too, why not civ? Didn't Topeka rename their city Google for a day or so?

It's also because Firaxis is based in Maryland. The governor gets to call attention to an in-state business, Civ fans get to feel noticed
