SID: trying, hurting, getting killed...

Okay folks, call me a masochist if you like, but I tried SID. Not just Sid in elimination mode or on archipelago map, no no, Sid on Pangaea. With 15 opponents... (okay, perhaps I am a masochist )



Sid hurts

I played as Greece.
My maximum number of cities was 3, I reached a score of 231 had 8 contacts.
I knew:
Bronze Working
Iron Working
Masonry
Alphabet
Warrior Code
Ceremonial Burial

I got killed in 1025 BC

The expansion of the AI's is abnormal, I hadn't even built my first Settler and the Sumerians had already built their first Wonder

Can anybody help me?

not me, once i get to that level, i would judge my performance exactly the way you did, in points and in date killed and then try to better that, as for winning, i guess the day i beat it using your starting criteria will be the same day i'll be installing condom machines in the Vatican

Indeed, I'm even playing a new Sid Game as I'm typing this, the AI keeps hurting me, but at least now I know they will. Perhaps I will even witness the AD's

At 510BC, I have made contact with the entire world, got over 1000 gold in reserve, got control of 5 luxuries. Once the AIs finish building road and harbor, we can trade them our luxury for tech, etc. Plus, in the worst case, just use the little trick I mentioned in my other thread to catch up in tech. I really think my game is winable, but I don't have time to play.

I might give it a try a little bit later. The new Sid game I mentioned is going better than expected.

My biggest break was all of the AIs dogpiling on the Koreans instead of me

well moonsinger you are one of the people here who are in a different class , i'm just a humble emperor player trying it for a laugh

i've just tried my first Sid game just to see how long I could survive, 15 AI, huge map, pangaea (sp?) and because this was just a laugh I took the start I had, no resources whatsoever, disease in my city just before a settler was due, my 5th and best city flips to the Ottomans, i'm surrounded on all sides way inland, everytime I build up enough cash to trade for tech, I have to pay tribute but guess what

it's 70AD and I'm still there, 5 cities, 439 pts, 0 of the 20 wonders built so far , wonder how long i'll survive, the AI have no reason to fight me, i have no resources, but there are multiple wars happening the whole time

makes deity look like a breeze

Sid level is possible if you get a nice sized continent to yourself - I did in one game. I also built cities every 3 tiles away (i.e., units could get there in 1 turn). Only 1 AI city was founded on my 'continent'.
