South Ossetia and Abkhazia have asked the international community to recognise them as independant states (following the Kosovo presedent).

I don't know about South Ossetia but Abkhazia is richer and more dynamic than the rest of Georgia and it's been de facto independent for more than ten years. Georgia stands to lose much more than Abkhazia by independence, but it's not like Georgia is capable of getting it back anyway.

Ossetia if a turkic speaking enclave in Georgia and Russia. North Ossetia being in Russia, and south Ossetia being in Georgia.

I wonder if it would be possible to fuse the two Ossetia's into 1 big Ossetia, of course the Russian Govornment wouldn't allow it...

according to a look at Wikipedia, Abkhazia was apparently responsible for "ethnic cleansing of Georgia" in the early 1990s.

Cause we BOTH get shafted by the people above us. toronto got no funding for public transit, instead montreal, vancouver, and PETERBOROUGH got funding. Toronto is in debt and getting nothing. Ontario loses TONS of money each year supporting the other provinces. ONTARIO FOR ONTARIANS! We should make a one issue federal party, the Ontario Blok. (Bloc and Block are both taken by Quebec and Western Canada, so we get Blok)

I think an Ontario Bloc would unite Canada in a vote to secede from Ontario.

And Ontario doesn't get shafted like Alberta does.

I say all these little micro states should be allowed independence. Those that can will prosper and those that can't can see the error of their ways and beg for help.

But then we ask the rich american's will have to help them because it is our duty or some other stupid thing like that and I don't want to help them. In this day and age with things like NAFTA and the European Union we should be looking for ways to peacefully unify the world not break it up into smaller and smaller bits.

Being an apartment, are you then not claiming 5 feet of your neighbors' sovereign territory? I see an international incident, claims of irredentism, possible ethnic cleansing, NATO intervention, and an eventual UN peacekeeping force. Do you have room for a battalion of Fijian peacekeepers in your kitchen?
