I'm traditionally a hardcore multiplayer because I enjoy competing against human intelligence, so it's extremely rare for me to advocate anything single player. Everyone knows that Civilization is catered to single player gameplay despite having multiplayer functionality.

I believe it would be truly AWESOME if the game devs integrated a few single player leaderboards within the game interface for single player scores. This would create the spirit of competing against human intelligence while maintaining the single player aspect.

You would have to have a few different categories most likely with the leaderboard since there are numerous game settings to choose from.

You could even go a step further and have leaderboards for every uploaded scenario and mod too.

That would be cool! If they haven't done that already, they should have :)

I suppose there are some problems to overcome in eliminating the possiblity of cheatiing.

How would this be different than the Hall of Fame? I'm not being snarky... genuine question!

that's what I was wondering. I also think it'd be neat to have a semi-permanent palace, thrown room you could customize over not just one game, but through many games, as you gain certain achievements.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!!

SP Leaderboards are a great idea and easily integrated into either Xfire or Steam.

Seems like it would indeed be very easy to integrate. It would also motivate players to play more competitively when they're doing single player, AND it would show every single player where they rank in the world when compared to others. It would essentially raise a new standard for single player mode. I could care less about the Steam achievements.
