Fallout did it much better. Once you got past the initial annoying "Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter" and started doing quests, they comment on it and everyone would react accordingly. Even they only had two lines about it.

    Spoiler :
"I wish I was there to see Caesar die. What an !"

So, I just finished the College of Winterhold quest. Not bad. Only real downside was that the final boss was pretty easy, considering how hard the previous boss was. :p

Anyway, how do you marry someone? Does it involve visiting the bard's college?

Nah, I think you have to talk to the Priest of Mara in Riften.

Get an Amulet of Mara (can buy from aforementioned priest) then talk to the person (assuming you've gained their affection via a quest or some other action). Option for marriage should pop up then go talk to the priest for your ceremony.

Anyway, can anyone tell me why my character is dumb enough to put on a mysterious ring automatically? I really don't think you should wear something from someone who randomly turns into a werewolf.

Baskets on peoples heads is funny, and then you can steal everything from them :). That's how I got the Golden Dragon Claw back after running through Bleak Falls Barrow.

You'd think that Bethesda would patch the game so that putting a basket on someone's head was a criminal offense. :p

But then something else would happen :). I remember when it was that chickens would report your offences to the guards.

When I try to open the door at Highgate ruins, the game crashes to my desktop. any ideas on this?

I did what I thought was a pretty thorough exploration to find the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller in the underground at his burial mound. I could not find it though. Any clues?

What ingredients go into healing potions? I have a ton of ingredients, but don't know what to save for stuff.

Did you find a note on or close to where the horn was supposed to be?

So I should save them for future potions? Or just eat them when I need to restore health?

    Thanks.

EDIT: And then I guess I should read the link first.

Just comb the area over again. Even I had a hard time looking for it.

That only works if it's the first effect. Even then, it's better to mix them into potions.

I was under the impression that the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller was at Ustengrav, rather than Highgate.

I thought all the food that used to restore stamina now restored health.

It is. I passed highgate getting to Ustengrav and couldn't get in.

    I got the horn. :)

    That dungeon was very complicated.

Riften and I never seem to get along. I helped to quell an Imperial attack on the guards at the front gate, but the guards instead accused me of murder and threw me in prison. I broke out of prison, activated werewolf and slaughtered the town guard as revenge. That felt good.

Why didn't you just use aformentioned werewolf powers to slaughter the guard BEFORE they took all your stuff?

Do guards still take ALL your stolen items when they catch you? (including things I stole 30 hours ago in a town across the map that they would have no way of knowing is stolen?).

If so, can I find this stuff in the container?

You know, I might have asked this question somewhere already, like... on page 23. But I can't remember.
