Well it isnt the fastest but considerably faster than what I have had.
Problem: I am playing civ4 and it is running slower on my "new" computer than my "old" computer.
Status: AMD64 X2 4400 939pin,DFI lanparty UI NF4 SLI motherboard, 2 Gigs Cas2 ddr 400 Partriot, Western Digital 250gb sata2 16mb cache partitioned for Windows (20gb), Everquest2 (20gb) and General use {Civ4} 210gb, PNY 7900gs 256mb PCI-Express Graphics card.
Solutions tried: Updated BIOS, Updated Drivers for Hardware, Updated Windows XP SP2, Updated Game, Tried setting priority (for somereason it keeps switching back to low perfromance). Norton 360 says there is no viriuses or spyware, and drives have been deformated and scaned for any possible damages.
Description of Problem: When i play the Earth scenario alot on my other Comp, no where near the stats on this one, and at the begining turns take between 2-4 secs with at the end game taking about 2-3 mins. On this comp it is 25-30 secs at beginning turns and not playable time at near mid game.
Question: what am I doing wrong?
