Small Wonder Limit?

I can't remember now for some reason, but I recall there being some kind of limit to the number of small wonders a Civ can produce. When a Civ builds three (I think) wonders it can't build any more. Is this correct? I may be mixing up games here.

I've built many more than three wonders in games. The limit is probably included in the actual improvememnt limit.

Yes, I believe that Gary is getting mixed up with National Wonders in Civ IV.

Warning: the limit for the total number of buildings (including small and great wonder) is 256. That's for the type of buildings in the editor, not for the buildings actually built by a civilization.
