I. Obey the Forumville regulations.

(A) Adhere to the Forum Rules. This is required.

II. Once you say something, it cannot be unsaid.

Spoiler :

(A) Do not edit your posts. If you edit a post, any votes in it are invalid and ignored.

III. Time is set in stone. You must abide by it.

Spoiler :

(A) This game has 2 phases: Day and Night.
(B) Day is 48 hours, and Night is 24 hours.
(C) During the day, vote for who you think is guilty.
(D) During the Night, any and all people with Night actions should PM them to me.
(E) You are allowed to talk in-thread at night.

IV. Secrets may not be copied.

(A) You cannot take images of your Role PM, etc. However, you may paraphrase your role. You can "quote" your role... but don't believe everything you read.
(B) You may make your own QuickTopics, but you must send me the link.
(C) You may talk to another player via PM; Do not break the rules while communicating.
(D) I, as GM, reserve the right to remove anyone from the game if they try to break these rules.

V. The guilty shall be voted for.

(A) Votes should be cast in the Vote: topsecret format. Unvotes are not required, though obviously allowed. Unvoting without a new vote counts as Abstain.
(B) Abstain and No Lynch are both allowed.
(C) Feel free to point out any mistakes in tally you think I've made. That doesn't mean something else might be affecting them, though...

VI. Know your role. Use your role.

(A) Smilie Mafia includes:
- Good Smilies (Innocents)
- Bad Smilies (Mafia)
- Mysterious Smilies (???)
(B) Everyone will receive a role PM. However, some players will not have a night action from their role.
(C) Any and all abilities you start with are in your Role PM.
--- Just because you do not start with an ability does not mean you cannot receive one through empowerment. (See rule VIII.)
(D) To use an ability, send me a PM with your target.
(E) You may or may not receive a result PM for your night action.

VII. Work to achieve victory.

Spoiler :

(A) The Good Smilies victory condition is as follows:
- Eliminate any hostile threats to the peace of Forumville.
(B) Bad and Mysterious Smilies have different victory conditions.

VIII. Gain power to help your team.

Spoiler :

(A) Even if you are a "vanilla" smilie, you are able to gain empowerments.
(B) Every day, during the day phase, I will post one smilie or icon. This one-use power will be granted to the player who receives the most votes.
(C) In case of a tie, no player receives the power.
(D) The winner will receive an empowerment PM detailing their one-use power. It is like a regular night action, but may only be used once. If you use an empowerment, you cannot use one of your other night actions.
(E) Empowerments are saved until used or until the player dies. On death, the empowerment is lost.

IX. A dead smilie is... dead.

Spoiler :

(A) When you're dead, you may make one BAH! comment. Otherwise, please stay quiet. Do not PM other living smilies (about the game).
(B) Dead players will receive a QT link.

X. Don't get replaced.

Spoiler :

(A) I will replace inactive players as I see fit. This is all left to the host's discretion.
(B) If you wish to be replaced, let me know in thread or by PM, and I will try to find you a replacement.
(C) Please be active. It kills the experience of the other players if you're not.

XI. The mayor can pass laws anytime he wishes.

(A) I reserve the right to, at any time, change one, some, or all of these rules simultaneously if I believe that it is necessary to the game.
(B) Hopefully, a rule change is not required. Nevertheless, I will be as fair as possible if one must occur.

The Game is Beginning!

With Topsecret dead, King Smilie knew he had to take over and make sure these Smilies didn't make any mistakes.

"As the ruler of Forumville, I demand we..."

"Lynch someone!" King was rudely cut off by a townsperson.

"YEAH!"

"That's right!"

"Genius!"

Cry spoke up. "But these are our friends! Why would you want to kill them?"

"To win the game and stop the mafia?"

"Oh."

King went over the Town Hall. After posting the rules, he announced to the townspeople, "The day has begun. I hereby decree that the person with most votes shall be lynched!"

"But this is some Smilies first time on CFC! What if they die before anything happens?" one Smilie complained.

"Well... fine. We will do things to improve the situation. Let the person with most votes be lynched today if there is a majority."

"What are you doing, King?"

All the Smilies looked at who spoke. It was Topsecret!

"We thought you were dead!"

"I was. But even though the rules say you can't keep talking as a dead player, I figured out that you can keep talking as a dead GM. So here I am."

King looked despondent at his loss of power. That didn't bother Topsecret, who took over.

"Let me remind the Smilies that we have powers that can be granted to help your respective teams. Today's empowerment is . This power would be useful to have, no matter what alignment you have."

"Let us begin!"
