That's not a waterfall, but I still think it's Maori.
Can't really see a waterfall in the sneak. I think those are cliffs, not water.
The color variation of the lines, as well as the curvature of many near the top does scream water flow (particularly falls) to me.
More so with full brightness on my screen .
Very intriguing teaser... could be anything, really, but having been to Machu Picchu I have a hunch it's the Incas
I'm going with Maori. I'm not getting a high elevation vibe from that picture.
Also we already got that globe positioning clue pointing us to that region.
A portrait picture is quite different to a landscape
It could be NZ, colour is right but more for a mountain lake like the top of sutherland falls. The tree seem rightish for Manuka and tussock is more mountainous than sea based.
I don’t think it’s a waterfall. I think it’s the ocean with some sort of weird angle going on. I’m going with Maori. Where would the water be coming from if it was a waterfall? There’s no river...
That's the weirdest waterfall I've ever seen lol where is the water coming from?
So, we have some sort of moutains with lush vegetation and, since it will be difficult to be waterfall, greyish cliffs...
What the phoque, Firaxis? This could be litterally pretty much everywhere on the planet! That's not a hint, it's rubbish!
At least, we can try to go through the elimination of leaked civs:
-Aliénor (yeah, I like my leaders as I like my toasts: french)
I'm also seeing cliffs. My thought is also the Inca, especially to follow the new Civ with an old/asked for one. The only thing that would make me thing Maori is that globe bit from the livestream, which I'm not really sure is actually intentional.
If it is the Maori, the background gives hope that they won't be a maritime civ at least.
The position of the glob is a good point lol. It seems small and unimportant unless you remember how big Ed Beach is into geography (and I'm sure many of the other developers)
Hmm... That greyish thing looks like half-waterfall and half bay or lake to me. It's painted in such a way I can't really decide.
I'm sure they will have something to do with the ocean based off of the trailer.
I wouldn't mind some form of wayfinding to be honest and it would make sense if that ability only was given to Kupe.
I really don't understand how everyone thinks that cliff looks like a waterfall. Waterfalls have streams or rivers above them.
Maori ... it simple look more like New Zeland Mountains than those in South America
For me it's the streaky vertical lines with curvature at the top, painted in a way that doesn't seem to make sense as anything other than falls.
I go with Maori, well probably because personal bias and i don't think that's a part of Machu Pichu
I typed "waterfall cliff" on Google Image and found nothing.
That doesn't mean it's not a waterfall, maybe that I'm just very bad at doing research, but I'm pretty sure that's not a waterfall...
I see a river down below and the cliffs on top.
Other people see a bay or lake down below and waterfalls.
