Unlike many other political tests found on the Internet which base themselves on untested (and usually ideologically motivated) ideas, this inventory is adapted from Hans Eysenck's own political inventory which was developed after extensive empirical investigations in the 20th Century.

A friend shared her results on facebook today and the results seemed thoughtful enough that I answered the fifty questions.

My results:

"These scores indicate that you are a tender-minded moderate; this is the political profile one might associate with a protective parent. It appears that you are moderate towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committed capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a political centrist.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, an egalitarian with few strong opinions.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting."

Has anyone else tried this yet?

These scores indicate that you are a progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a pragmatic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as left-wing.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, an idealist with several strong opinions.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting.

These scores indicate that you are a moderate; this is the political profile one might associate with a regular person. It appears that you are moderate towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear laissez-faire capitalist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as libertarian.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a devoted eugenicist with few strong opinions.

I stopped after hitting this question: "Royalty and nobility encourage snobbishness in a country, and are not compatible with democracy." (question #8)

Two totally separate issues merged into one question when each on their own could have totally different answers. makes it a stupid question and invalidates the whole thing.

I just clicked the middle-of-the-road option. Snobbishness and aristocracy will exist regardless of royal titles.

I don't see how they say I'm libertarian when I said strongly agree to more education and welfare spending, more aid to foreign countries, and that inheritance incomes aren't fair.

I assume they put the former two in the 'Tenderness' category and forgot to use the results in calculating the socialism category.

Welcome in gang, libertarian brother.

A bit surprised at that, I ticked all the socialist boxes and just not entirely negative to capitalism. I even answered a few about government spending from the perspective of the USA rather than my own country, pushing me even further towards socialism.

However, seeing as I'm not actually a socialist, I guess I can't complain. :p

Also what does question 9 "Men and women have the right to find out whether they are sexually suited before marriage." mean? I assume it's either premarital sex or forced/arranged marriages, but it seems a strange way to phrase it.
